I'm an existing three customer, is this for new customers only or does it work for existing people as well?

Well the cashback is for new lines. However, if your contract is about to finish I would have thought you'd have the leverage to get at least a £5 discount on a £40 deal.

I'm on a month sim only at the moment, as I bought my Desire out right. I just spoke to a lady from India but she was trying to give me the Text 500 for £34 and her giving me stuff was 2 years warranty instead of 1 year. Apparently worth £60.

I need to give retentions I go.

Yeh, just ask for a PAC. The worst that could happen is that they give it to you and that's not a commitment to leave.

Well I just spoke to them. He said that as it's not yet launched they can't give retention deal. However to tide me over till I can get a deal he's reduced my currently rolling monthly sim only from £15 to £10.

Now it's time to speak to some other networks :( and also most likely walk to a three store on Thursday.

Why not just wait a few days. Maybe they genuinely can't budge on preorders. I would have asked for a call back on Thursday.

Unless you just want to have a play or pay the going rate I wouldn't make any special journey to a 3 store. They aren't allowed to give discounts off the advertised rate (and believe me I've hassled them in the past to match elsewhere).

i was in my old town Romsey today and saw they had a CPW, popped in and was surprised to see someone i used to know, friend of a friend sort of thing, he checked all the resources and showing none in stock in CPW main depot. So he reckons it would be hard pushed for them to get them in and out to the branches before thursday.

I wouldn't expect it to be sold out - yes there is demand but only between the few hundred people on various forums that are so eager to get it as soon as it is out and even then a few hundred people around the UK means that there will be loads of stock.

We know that O2 and Phones4u and 3 will all have the phone on Thursday. There is also a good change that Vodafone will as well. And then there are all the online phone sites as well. I wouldn't worry.

Although I may well end up with 2 on Thursday - one SIM free and one on an upgrade! (before anyone asks why - I already pre-ordered a SIM free model from gummobile and if I am going to upgrade I might as well get the most expensive phone to maximise resale value...)

How popular is this phone going to be? Will it be all sold out next week? I'm not eligible for my upgrade until the 24th :(

Demand wont be that high as it's not really a hardware upgrade over what is already on the market. However if supply is low then it might be hard to get one on launch day.

Not a hardware upgrade?

Up until now everyone who say an iPhone 4/4S could see how amazing the display was and the Nexus blows that away with deeper colours and higher resolution (and within 10 pixels of density). They will see the display and be blow away and that is what captures the imagination.

he most likely meant SoC wise.

The demand isnt determined by people who want a faster processor or more cores but by those that walk in store and see a phone which grabs their attention.

There is no doubt that the Galaxy Nexus with its HD screen and no buttons will do that.

I don't expect it to be sold out but I do think that store to store it may be slightly harder to get.

Those people tend to end up with an iPhone.

Or they might think it's way too big? This isn't a phone that is going to sell brilliantly to the masses, it isn't designed for that.

I'm not sure I agree. The iPhone is sexy but if you go into the store open minded you will see a phone with a screen so amazing you won't be able to look at an iPhone 4. I already feel that way with the Note but I know the note isn't a phone as such, it's a hybrid, but the nexus is a phone.
