Take the iPhone 4S launch - they said in the presentation when and where it would be available, and for how much. And that helpful information enabled people to buy the phone because none of it was vague and they had the stock when they said they would.
Samsung have a lot to learn.

They said the Galaxy Note was going to be out on the third of November, and it was, though stock seems to be quite limited.

I just did an upgrade to the nexus over the phone on phones4u.
My impatience costs me a 2 year contact instead of 12 months if done through O2. Regardless of that I should get the phone on Thursday so we will see.
Incidentally phones4u have said they expect demo units in stock tomorrow for display.

Just had an email from GumMobile saying the phone has likely been delayed until the 23rdBut they're still hoping to get it out earlier.
Shambles this really, Samsung's distrubution = a pile of smelly bumjuice
No wonder Apple sell so many iPhones, they don't actively prevent people from buying the damn things
Two very different phones. Apple could probably tell you today how many ip5's that they will sell on launch next year where as Samsung have no idea how many Nexus's that they will need for the next week! All of these online shops might of over sold on a product that will be in tight supply as I doubt Samsung will invest too much in production of what will likely be a niche product.

I've just called P4U as i'm also due an upgrade on Orange. Told them about your offer, he contacted the networks and said theres no chance! Cheapest he could get was £41 per month on a 18 month contract.
He did say that if I get your reference number he could match it (emails in trust!) but without that he said you were pulling our legs!! So basically called you a liar and said he couldn't get it any cheaper so no nexus for me yet

Exactly what I told him and he said it's just not possible to get it under £41pm (that was with O2 as Orange wanted £46pm but would match the £41)!
I was planning on getting it sim free and getting the giffgaff sim anyway, just thought an upgrade for less than £30pm would be easier and cheaper.

Planning on doing the same although not with giffgaff as I need more minutes, right now tesco seems to be my best bet.

I'd try ringing up again tomorrow, the £41 18 month contract is for new customers.
I was offered £38.50 on 18 months with 900 mins 3000 texts and 1GB data, more expensive tariff than what borich got as I wanted 1GB. It also depends on what previous contract you have - this correlates to a banding and what they can offer you, for example in my case I'm upgrading from a HTC Desire on a £25 month contract, this equates to band 4. Best deal I could get is £33.50 a month, 900 mins 3000 texts 1GB data, 24 months, £100 cash back. I plan on going ahead with this contract tomorrow morning, it equates to £29.46 a month. I can only presume borich has a better banding as he had a more expensive contract beforehand which gave him more flexibility perhaps?
It's not meant to compete with the 4S so it doesn't really matter.

I was trying to emphasize the point that the guy I spoke to was calling you a liar. He literally said "he must be pulling your leg as theres no way any network would let someone have it at that price".

I've had 2 18 month iPhone contracts at £35pm with O2 and i'd like a comparable one on the nexus. So about 300 minutes, 500mb and at least 500 texts. Am I likely to get this phone for under £35pm on an 18 month deal with O2?
