So the options are get it through phones4u on a new contract or upgraded on Thursday
Or wait until next week when it will be with everyone else.

I have mixed feelings about this - to release it on a Thursday means that those of us that ordered SIM free may have not gotten it before Monday anyway if there were any delays and what we are talking about here isn't really a week delay it's more of a half week delay. I'm the scheme of things it isn't too bad. We aren't delayed until Decemeber (yet!).

Just got off the phone with Phones4U. They are now saying that there's a delay but that they expect to get stock in on Thursday and for "some" handsets to be shipped out to customers on Friday.

Sorry, I can change my boot screen (one of the lovely benefits of Miui XJ is that you're given the option to change it throughout the settings menu).

Nevertheless, I cannot change the pre-boot screen splashscreen lol.
 
Looks like it's going to be the 21/22nd for most of us now... which is very disappointing. all a bit of a shambles really.
 
In summary:

There is bad news for anyone hoping to pick up a Samsung Galaxy Nexus this Thursday from O2 as the release has been delayed in store until the following week beginning 21st November.

It’s not clear if this delay is only in-store or will effect online availability as well.

As of right now no other network or retailer shows a change to the release of the phone but that could change during the day.

Update: Three have pushed back the phone to Monday as well with deliveries arriving Tuesday. Phones4u have confirmed that they will only have the Nexus in store in Oxford Street in London from Thursday but other stores should have it from Friday.

As far as SIM free deliveries are concerned Clove have pushed the dispatch date to Wednesday 23rd November and we are waiting to see if other online retailers also change their dates today but it seems very likely that they will.

Just had an email from GumMobile saying the phone has likely been delayed until the 23rd :( But they're still hoping to get it out earlier.

Shambles this really, Samsung's distrubution = a pile of smelly bumjuice

No wonder Apple sell so many iPhones, they don't actively prevent people from buying the damn things
 
How exactly can they expect it earlier if it's delayed until the 23rd?

Have Samsung misplaced the stock next to a McDonalds somewhere?!

Either there is a delay or there isn't. I'm not blaming gummobile or clove but that makes no sense!
 
Emailed KingofGadgets and awaiting a reply in regards to delivery and shipping dates.

Has anyone ever purchased anything from them? The site doesn't reassure me one bit.
 
Rumour has it parts are the issue but that sounds like a lot of rubbish to me (Samsung have a HUUUUUGE parts chain, probably the biggest in the industry considering they own pretty much every industry) so my guess is either they arsed up shipping or the yields on screens are low from last month. I can't really see it being cpu/radio (its an easy combo) or software (as if google cared about quality of that ;) ) the 2 usual killers.

This was always the risk with such a late launch, I get the feeling Google bullied them a bit. Insight are expensive as they ship worldwide don't they? Easy markup, you havn't seen how good it is until you see the Asian iPhone going for well north of a grand :|

While Dawson is indeed unhappy about how Samsung can't get their act together you guys should be satisfied in the end, just wait a tiny tiny bit longer. Worth the wait. Still should sort out the menu button though, this is going to bug me like nothing else.
