*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Well US Conversion at the Mastercard rate today (What I would use to buy it abroad with no fees) is 1.563101 so I work it out as...

$199 = £127.31
$249 = £159.30

So I will probably pick one up on my trip to Las Vegas in August...depending on how well I do! Certainly good prices at a conversion and if the rate gets better for me in the next month even more reason to pick it up!

Don't forget sales tax, though.

Works out around £138 for the 8gb...not a HUGE difference, but if you're travelling anyway may be worth waiting

Yeah I think big power users always need the extra memory and since their margins on these devices are always pretty hefty, had they put in a microSD it might start cannibalising non Google tablets. Then again they're getting so heavily thumped by the ipad nowadays I reckon the only chance they do have is to take the iPad out with smaller, cheaper devices.

What they could have done then was maybe have one of them with the option of a microSD slot.

Therefore, those that want the extra memory will go for the model that has the SD and those that don't can go for the other. The question is, which version do you add said option to?

Why not dual boot the Touchpad?

WebOS poos over Android - I only boot into Android if I need a specific app - otherwise it's WebOS all the way.

Back on topic - it's not suprising Google fancy a go at this - HP showed there is a market for a mid spec, low priced tablet last year.

I think I had a different version of WebOS on my touchpad.

They showed there was a market for a £90 sale on a £400 tablet. They also showed that that the £400 wasn't profitable when it was a £400 tablet.

This is the moment where I become interested in tablets. At the moment, I am not willing to pay iPad prices for something that I see as a luxury device but a 7-inch tablet with pretty much the same hardware as the HTC One X for under £200? Yes please.

SD storage would have been nice though and maybe it could have been slightly bigger.
