I'd only really be using it to read books and magazines/comics in bed. It's only £150~ but an expensive bedtime gadget in that regard!

I think £150 for that sort of thing is entirely worth it. Great if you're travelling too.

Yes it is because of JB and 12 core Gpu

what is the screen quality like?
exactly same as galaxy nexus

Guys,

I've been looking at the nexus since it was announced but not sure if it meets my needs.

1. I just want a tablet to surf around the house in whether its in bed or on the couch.
2. Might play the odd game or two.
3. I use a lot of google services, gmail, gdocs, gcalender etc.
4. Might watch the odd movie.

3G would be nice but i can always use my iphone as a hotspot when out and about. WIFI at home.

Is this suitable?

Perfect.

I'd go with the wheelbarrow suggestion above though, fantastic things.

That's an American store I think, but the stock is out there...

I imagine some of the UK stores have it, but aren't allowed to release it for sale yet.

I very much doubt it, it'll be Saturday or Monday depending on the delivery service.

i posted my mates impressions saying that the nexus 7 was a lot smoother then the S3 and now it seems he is right because not only is the nexus 7 smoother then the s3 but also the galaxy nexus and thats all down to JB

A few things are smoother, but overall it's very marginal and the Galaxy Nexus is actually slower at completing direct tasks and opening things.

The Galaxy Nexus is really impressive though, as it has always lagged a bit until now.

I'd say it's close enough that you couldn't call one as being smoother than the other.

However, it depends entirely on the device as well. It's not like the Galaxy Nexus has rubbish hardware.

Are you talking about the screen distorting if you "press down really really hard"...

Such a thing is surely a non-issue.

Just been watching a YouTube review and they said it takes seven hours to charge and I was fairly shocked, I've never had a tablet before so just wondered if that was normal for them?

Well phones generally take 3~ hours on the mains and 6~ hours via USB, so it doesn't seem that shocking?

Nope, the actual screen coming lose from the casing.
