*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Thank you for the clarification, PB. It seems a little odd that their supply chain mechanics do not facilitate the cancelation of orders that haven't even had payment taken. As an aside the, fellow I spoke to said that he was not "allowed" to cancel any orders placed before July 1st, not that he "couldn't". Either way, a mess.

I checked my account, my order was placed on 27th, request to cancel on 30th and confirmed order cancellation on 1st.

The person told me he only can cancel an order within one hour after the order was placed. But his forward my request to another team to deal with it.

I have ordered a couple (one of each size) which Google have just told me on the phone that they "cannot cancel", despite not having yet charged my card, and despite me sending them a series of 'please cancel' messages through google checkout - fuming at that.

In this day and age not having a cancel button on the website itself is diabolical.

They are just not set up for hardware sales, since they are unable to cancel, I suspect that it's all handled via a third party over which they don't have control over (or integrated systems). I've ordered several items from large e-tailers that came direct from manufacturers and I couldn't amend or cancel my orders a day or so before dispatch and had to refuse delivery.

If they haven't taken the money, then have you tried taking your card off google wallet? When I did this last week, it prompted me with "this will affect the following orders"..

I just tried placing a order via google play store for the 8gb model and i get the follow message:

"Sorry, we were unable to process this request -- you will not be charged for the purchase. Please refresh the page and try your purchase again."

I tried refreshing and refreshing and it's not going through, anyone else experienced this and is it possible to call google and order over the phone if there is a problem through ordering on there website (i cant find a uk google telephone support number anywhere?)

I just rang google today after they did not respond to 4 emails requesting to cancel. He stated the email system is not really looked at very often? And it's better to ring. He said I CAN CANCEL on the phone. He passed it onto a "specialist" who would arrange cancellation within 48 hours......... I have re-ordered using a different card. It is a bloody silly system, especially if the email you send is never read? mind you I don't think they can refuse to cancel anyway in British consumer law but what do I know! :D

I think there uk number is the Irish number.......not a joke, they are based in Ireland. Are you sure you put all your details in correctly especially the payment details?

I manage to find a 0800 number going through there website (although it was hidden to the side in a small grey box).

After i called he said he never herd of it happening and suggest i clear the cache of my browser, anyway i switched to using internet explorer to try and purchase it and it worked, strange how google chrome version 20 actually messed up my ability to purchase it,i have never experienced that before and wonder why the browser had an effect.

DOH! Never thought of the browser, I have problems sometimes with chrome browser and online payments, no idea why?

Theirs some Verification part in the payment process, I think it must make a small connection to your bank, as I am now asked for my Bank pass words or the 5th letter etc.

Chrome cannot do these at all.

Perhaps the newest version of chrome has a bug related to this im not sure.Strange i could order it with internet explorer (which i never normally use) but couldn't use chrome on google's own website, very strange indeed.

Payment for my nexus 7 has been taken so i presume they are getting ready to actually ship them to use now, those that have ordered it from the google play store?

as above, my phone is always on me or near me so why would i want another device with another sim/contract/payg when i can use my existing contract for this. Tethering is def the way forward.

as for the nexus it will fit on the inside pocket of a suit jacket and its cheap compared to its competitors, i cant wait for this :)

Doe's anyone know if there exists a micro usb to micro sd card adapters?

I've tried looking and having a hard time finding if they even exist, would be more practical and ideal than using a cable for usb otg
