**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Not yet but I read an article a few days ago saying the camera app is going to be updated and it'll have an option to create a shortcut on your homescreen directly to the portrait mode.

Cheers for the heads up. Handy to know as would save some time for quick snaps.

Also am I right in thinking burst mode doesn't work for Portrait mode?

Which case is everyone using these days? I'm looking for a super thin case and it doesn't look like Peel and MNML are available in the UK so wondering if anyone has recommendations?

I've seen the MNML over at the forest site. Was going to order one as annoyed with the Ringke Fusion being bulky and getting crap stuck in the case. Saying that it has saved me for two random drops from waist height!

I bought these last week. Perfectly good for what I use them for (gym, ocassionally on the train). They have bluetooth 4.1 so it shows me the charge left too.

Nice one. Was looking at these last night and ordering on the back of that information. Thanks.

Soundpeat Q30 are also a good cheap alternative. I've actually used them more than my jaybird X2's as I prefer the sound on the Q30's.
I didn't know you could adjust the eq on Spotify. Good to know.

I've adjusted my spotify eq a little to add a little bass fyi.

They won't blow your socks off but they're perfectly fine for simple listening and I haven't had any issues with connectivity yet.

These are solely for lunchtime walks, some YouTube and anything where sound quality is fine for simple listening.

I do want a decent pair but for in ear these will be fine.

Well, today I bit the bullet and ordered some Anker Surge headphones that a friend recommended. I feel fairly happy that it will be a decent choice as I've recommended him some Soundmagics in the past which he was happy with but says these are about as good if not a little better, and they were only £18.

I am a bit of an audiophile, but honestly, for out and about, I can't see the point in anything expensive, more especially when I only use them occasionally - they wouldn't even get a look in, in the house.

And I suppose a small part of me is a bit sick of the tangled cables and whatnot that come with normal wired headphones (again, fine in the house when you're tethered to a PC).

Tell me how you get on as I also classify myself as as audiophile and I'm currently considering a few phones that don't have audio jacks, not sure whether to jump on board yet.

I needed to upgrade all my charge cables. Anker still the brand to go for? Seen a full pack for £20. Also any recomerecommend for a PD charger and PD portable charger? Thanks.

I bought a pair of anker usb c adapters, works well and quite a cheap solution

Sister got her 2 XL from EE the other day, it was definitely noticeable. Enough for me to want an exchange until I got a good one.

I bought mine here: https://www.mobiles.co.uk/sim-free-google-pixel-2-64gb-black

Haven't even noticed the blue tint tbh.

Still hit and miss really on the 2 XL, I got lucky and have a decent screen. The regular one doesn't have issues since it uses a Samsung panel.

Thanks lads. Will have to wait till Pixel 3 then and hope.

Hmm, having played around I’m not convinced the dongle is at fault, it seems to be losing connection. It isn’t a solid connection like you would get on a proper headphone jack, it moves around a bit in the port. So I don’t think a new dongle will solve my problem.

So I either have to get the phone replaced, which I am not convinced will fix it permanently because this very much seems like a wear and tear issue, or buy wireless headphones. Or screw it and sell the thing and buy something that has a headphone jack, and I’m tempted in all honesty, I’ve had too many niggles for my liking with this phone now.

Definitely a problem with the port itself, The RMA I got from Google has started to develop the same problems again. I'm going to try one more RMA if that doesn't sort it then i'll be selling the damn thing.
