**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Just a heads up that pixel 2xl deal at cPW is back up, £529 with £50 cashback making it £479!!
Is this the one that comes with an O2 contract you have to cancel? Think I'm going to take the plunge in that case, I'm sick of the substandard camera on the Moto E4 I bought to tide me over when my HTC M8 battery died.

It's been mentioned on the thread before but it's worth trying the Samsung Internet browser over Chrome. It has given me much better battery life in my testing recently and will stick with it.

Anyone having any issues with their keyboard? If you type really fast it either can't keep up or doesn't auto correct properly and just makes a hash of anything written even if it's accurate.

What keyboard are you referring to GBoard?

Wonder if it has anything to do with the multitouch bug due to be fixed in the June OTA?
if you're rooted with magisk, there's a module you can flash

Anyway to use Chrome auto-fill on the Samsung browser?

Not explored that yet. Was just testing battery.

I can't believe the difference it has made. The phone hasn't died and used the browser a fair bit today and it's done wonders. Chrome would have killed the juice earlier this evening. Bizzare.

It's a fundamental issue with Chrome as it eats up battery on the MacBook also.

I don’t buy into that and would not switch chrome for anything. The auto fill, intergration, history, saved bank details and eco system across devices makes chrome part of the reason I am locked (by choice) to google.

Buy the Pixel 2 XL on a 12 month contract, phone is bought Sim free for £529 from CPW, it arrives with a 12 month Sim Only contract on O2

you call O2 direct cancel the contract which they do with no issues

Quidco tracks @ £50 and gets paid as they don't know you have cancelled the Sim

essentially its 2 separate deals here

the receipt from CPW also states Sim Free. Only downside is this needed a credit check for the contract part.

So if I get a XL on O2 they(O2) can't refuse to stop the contract?

It's a 'known strategy' shall we say. I've done it twice and from what I can remember it took no more than 4 minutes to cancel the contract after.

If you do the CPW deal then yes, they cant refuse as you are in the 14 day cooling off period, Contract is with O2 not CPW.

I wouldn't of done this myself if it wasn't the cheapest way to get a 2 XL (brand new)

Same...

I managed to bag a 128GB XL brand new from Ebay for £600.
Was that a 2? if so that a good price for that storage size
