**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

Snapdragon 845. Dual camera lenses. Wireless charging. Slight bump up in RAM. Bump up in storage. Improved screen. Made by HTC or in house.

You heard it here first :)

Not exactly difficult to predict, though.

I've really enjoyed using my Pixel 2, I don't have issues with the bluetooth either and the screen issue isn't present on the non-XL as far as I'm aware. There is a lot to love about the phone(s) and to say they've been a complete disappointment is very unfair.

Probably a case of context being lost with written communication here. I'm a big fan of the Google eco system and Pixel in particular. My Pixel XL is the best handset that I've owned. It's just that it does have flaws, and I'm hoping that they get resolved with Pixel 3 because that's most likely going to be my next purchase.

Hopefully the phones this year won't be as much of a disaster on the hardware/QC front as well as being priced sensibly on release this time.....

As long as they don't use LG. Imo anything they touch goes wrong. Think I picked the wrong time to grab me a new S8+ given my retired 6P was working fine.

Figure the pricing will be OTT again.

Smartwatch stuffs will be interesting but imo it is a lost battle now. Samsung have a better stance with their Gear S3's doing very well and mine lasts 3-4 days still after a good couple of months ownership.

Yup LG are pretty poor, saying that I loved my 5x and still rather miss it tbh, if it weren't for the inevitable bootloop timebomb, I would still be using it.

Possibly, but gs8+ is no slouch and aside from the camera, I doubt there will be anything about the pixel 3 that will be better than it, certainly nothing ground breaking anyway....

Yeah, don't get me wrong as the S8+ is a scorcher it's just I've been spoilt by the superb output from my retired 6P and I'm still adjusting to the S8's one. Google really have nailed their camera processing so early on in with the 6P - can't imagine what the Pixel 3 will be like.

Forbes has an interesting take on what we can expect from the Pixel 3.

They expect AI to be at the core of the Pixel 3, much more so than how Assistant has been on say the Pixel 2. They believe the 3 will present you with your precise request before you have had a chance to think it out fully. Expect pictures, search, maps, battery and tasks will be led by predictive AI.

HTC being the ones that made the better of the two pixels and the same HTC a lot of people wish made the pixel 3 instead of it turning into the U11+?
Think you might be a minority there..

Theres no one really left barring Samsung if you look at the past. As I've said LG are imo far from reliable. Huawei I would say are reliable (my 6P is flawless) but there are a lot who would disagree. HTC always seem to mess ONE thing up with their own devices so I don't know how things could pan out there.

Android Authority is out with their "Pixel 3 series: 5 things I want to see", with an active comment section:

I thought the "remappable Active Edge feature" an interesting one, with more of the features currently available on the HTC Edge Sense that lets you open an app of choice, turn on the flashlight or take a screen shot.

You can already do that on the S8 with Side Squeeze app.

The Pixel 3 will be over priced and won't sell. Time to wake up google.

If Google, Samsung or whoever is developing a flagship phone they should come with flagship performance. Phone's in this price range will always get compared to the iPhone which are using the a11 custom ARM processor which are miles ahead what's on offer from a Android phone in most CPU benchmarks. Is there anyone outside of Qualcomm that sells high performance ARM CPU's or is a given that the Pixel 3 won't lay glove on a iPhone in terms of raw CPU capabilities?

Talking flagships, I have been quite happy with the 2 XL performance for £ 799 and the idea of paying between £ 1000 to £1150 for the iPhone X seems a bridge too far for many people. Hence the Pixel is the more sensible purchase.
