**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

Damn! That's really not great......anyway, thoughts on the standard 3? Assume from your comments about blue shift on the XL the standard 3 will feature an IPS panel? Jeez........I'm not liking where all this is going.

£739 and you don't even get a damn screen protector! that's what I like about OP cause I'm really bad at fitting them
I didn't play as much on that (don't help it had a hyper sensitive alarm on it) butit does look tiny in comparison to the XL, it reminds me of the regular S8, screen still looked OLED to me and the ticket states QHD Res.

The wise angle selfie is nice but in all due respect I can't see the masses going for this phone despite this feature being targeted at them.

Personally at nearly half the price for the Pixel 2 XL I'd get that despite it's short comings and save the money for an accessory or a rainy day
Which store?
Talbot Green, Llantrisant

Those prices are ridiculous.

Let's see what happens a few weeks after launch. Last year Google dropped the price on the 2XL by £100 for a short period.

That was in December

Yeah I know, I bought one. The panda 2XL wasn't fully available until mid-November once the initial pre-order allocation sold out.

I'm not sure why they dropped the price but hoping for it again. I bet there won't even be a free Google Home this year either. £869 is silly money.

1hr to go. Quite excited for this. Not 100% sure why. The 3 is expensive, not the best specs...but I find myself wanting it :p - the appeal of stock Android is high!

The contract prices took a good nosedive in November because I got my 2XL for £28 a month with £150 upfront with 12gb data from mobiles.co.uk on Black Friday.

Yep, it sure is. Why don't other manufacturers get this? It's not strictly a stock android thing though, the pixel launcher and pixel extras are awesome.....oh yeah, and the zero bloat thing.
You know how many web browsers are on a pixel deivice....one, THAT'S RIGHT....ONE! How many gallery apps? ONE!!!! ONE!!!!! OOOONNNNNEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

So much this, they insist on polishing their turd of custom UIs and Bloat. Gaaah, annoying.

Ah well, lets see what the next hour brings :)

At least with samsung flagships, you know you are getting the very best hardware on the market......

Sadly, it comes with Samsung's version of Android though - and that always kills their phones off for me. Not sure what the S9 range is like, but the S7 and S8 are seriously crippled by Samsung's touchwiz (or whatever it's branded as now) - that's one thing the over priced Google phones have over them. Obviously this is a personal preference, I'm sure that many users of Samsung phones don't mind or notice its (imo) failings - but when I used my Wife's S7 Edge, I couldn't help notice how unresponsive it was.
