**** The Official Google Pixel 3 Thread ****

have preordered the pixel 3 as well in white. i can cancel preorders right as i've 3 now? :p

why did they pretend there was more to come? i accepted this was all, but google purposefully did something to get hopes up? but for what

A bit of a joke in my opinion, considering the price. I can’t understand what Google hope to achieve at this price level. The only people who will buy this is the tiny subset of phone users who crave stock android.

Disappointed.

I'm actually more interested in the LG V40 at this rate, or just wait for the Galaxy S10 which will undoubtedly give the Pixel a good running for camera quality.

Flipping hell @ price. Given they can't market their devices to save their lives, that price is just going to keep folks at bay even moreso.

I'm hardly Googles biggest fan given how poorly they treat their devices on the software end of things but that price is comical.

S10 for me, providing it has a headphone jack still.

Surely you can’t expect the technology in these phones to be given to you for cheap?

Shouldnt stock Android and regular updates be what everyone should want?

If I was investing in an ecosystem that would be one of my top requirements.

Tell that to former 6P owners and Pixel C owners like yours truly. These devices are nothing but testbeds for dodge Google code that have bricked tons of Pixels C's and caused countless issues on 6P's.

Stock android is great I do agree, when Google isn't pouncing about with pushing you useless updates that break more than they fix.

The Pocophone and OnePlus 6 show what can be achieved at a more realistic price point. The Pixel 3 has similar levels of hardware spec as the OnePlus yet has a massive Google tax slapped on top.

Did anyone else just receive an email from Google? £75 off Google Store items with a pre-order of 3/3XL - maybe people knew that already? Could mean pretty much a free Stand for anyone that wants it or whatever.

Was hoping to trade down in size to a normal 3 from my 2 XL but at that pricing they can stick it! Will try to find a normal 2 at a good price instead.
Only thing is because of the top and bottom bezels on the 2 you're not saving that much physical space by going from 2XL to 2 but a hell of a lot of screen. Side by side in the hand the difference in height is minimal.

But you can’t expect those phones to stay at those price points as the technology gets better though surely?

I know I’d be willing to pay that extra knowing I’d be getting regular updates as opposed to having to upgrade every year just to ensure I’d have the latest OS.

If I get one it's the reg pixel 3. Looks much cleaner, that notch is just too much. That said the pixel 3 vs the pixel 2 XL.. Not sure for those who have the 2XL if it's worth the upgrade.

I kinda want the XL but that notch is putting me off massively - I can't work out if the 2XL might be a good shout considering it'll get the software features from the 3.

What technology exactly? The 845 has been in phones for about 6 months. This doesn't do anything better than much cheaper phones plus it's as ugly as sin.

Machine Learning? AI?

I dunno, just seems like the usual moaning of Android enthusiasts wanting the latest and greatest while wanting to pay the absolute minimum for it.
