The Official GRAW Thread

I can't seem to get the squad orders working, the function keys have no effect, selecting a squad member and trying to use a function from the scroll bar has no eefect, Once you come out of the menu the only order that auto works is the move order. Is this part of the demo, not to allow full orders to squad members?

No AA in the final game at all? WTF! How moronic of the developers tbh.

Call me shallow, but i'm cancelling my pre-order. And i probably won't end up re-ordering unless a) the feedback about MP is great and b) AA is fixed.

Why such a fuss about AA?
Just use a higher resolution.

It makes no difference, even in the highest res the game is as jaggy as Mick Jagger.

I cancelled my pre-order because of the AA, i havent even played the game properly but based on what people are saying im not missing much.

Can't believe how everyone rabbits on about "It's not the graphics that count, it's the gameplay!!1", and now a game has been released without AA, it's all fire and brimstone in here.

I for one still think it's a good game, if not a bit jaggy. And I can guarentee you the jaggies are worse for me - 1360x768 on a 32" screen :p

I agree but you have got to admit that in this day and age of 'fancy' graphics with knobs on, the ommission of a standard graphical option is a bit of a screw up.

As complex as we like to think that the human race has become, the fact is, is that we still like shiny things.

Well, the gameplay isn't anything special, however the addition of a basic graphical thing which is in almost all other games would actually make the game look nice, and might get more attention from me. I cant stand playing games that look so bloody awful though, especially if it is just ANOTHER basic FPS game.

My opinion!

The Atari crosscom is a joke  a lot of computers these days have more than 1 thread.

Using 2x7800gtx I get min 15fps but with 1 card get 41fps in the same place -WTF  (SLI driver bug fixed too).

Using 1 or 2 CPU's has no effect on performance, the game only uses 100% of 1 core.

Why couldn't the game be programmed to take advantage of 2 graphics cards, 2 CPU's and an option for 64bit.

There is so little HDR you may as well turn it off & have playible fps.

I'm too busy trying get the game run faster by disabling graphics cards and processors I havn't had chance to play it yet.

For those complaining about graphics etc...

dont worry, this game sucks the big one.

why oh why must they churn out crap like this constantly. <snip>

Operation Flashpoint is better than this and how old is that? ( and thats saying something cus OP aint even that good to begin with).

play mario 3 instead. g'night.

please don't quote it either, just RTM the post if you can :) thanks

Just downloaded FRAPS to get a FPS on this game. Hmmmm not great. get about 20fps with most effects on and high textures et al. It is playable but is not enjoyable and like most people here have been saying - it still doesn't look that great. Turned most of the effects off and turned it all down to medium and got an average of 30fps. :(

With so many good games in my collection to play and with SiN and HL2:episode 2 out soon, think I will save my money for them as they will run on my rig. Gonna cancel my preorder and wait until I get the hardware so I can play this game the way it is mean't to be played. by the time that happens GR:AW will prolly be on budget! lol.

Ive given the demo a good run about and enjoyed it once I started using the squad commands properly, like sending a man to run across an open area to a covered area with a nice view of the enemy.

Once you start managing your squad the game is pretty fun, will check out the full game after I read the reviews.

I know my 6800gt isnt top of the range but was hopeing to at least play at 1024x768 with a bit of eye candy, but even at 800x600 it lags to hell and back. maybe a nvidia thing ?

I dunno m8, I wasn't expecting to play with a huge res or huge amount of detail, but on my rig, I'm finding 1024x768 is unplayable, far too laggy and looks terrible into the bargain.

I'm running an Athlon 3000XP with 1Gb DDR400 and a Leadtek 6800GT.

Will try it at 800x600 and see how it goes, but I dont know if my eyes will be able to stand it.

Are there any "tweaks" to increase performance that anyone has heard yet?.

Is it just me or are your squad mates next to useless? they seem to take ages catching you up and they stand out in the open getting shot at, the squad interface is mince too. For me band of brothers got the squad element working almost perfectly, it was quick easy and easy to use, GRAW’s on the other hand is cumbersome and I find it easier just abandoning the squad at the start of each mission and going solo. It’s a shame because I actually quite like some parts of the game.
