The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

Been spending a lot of time travelling for work recently, so have been getting back into Hearthstone on the ipad, been brilliant.

I do have a quest to spectate a friend, and the only one I have on my list who plays HS is Lodjik who appears to have me blocked for spectating.

Anyone able to help out? I believe my battletag is Crimefighter#2135 - will double check tonight.

hey Lodjik is that your ingame name as you beat me earlier on as my pally.

I got a consecrate one card too late.... hate when you don't get any in your first 15 cards :/

130 new cards and a tournament mode.

There's no Tournament Mode, it's just the name of the expansion.

I guess not buying packs or playing arena for a few months is finally going to pay off! :D

Yes mate Morganno is my IGN.

I have been playing the aggro pally got 8-2 then hit a speed bump because the lethal consecrate/divine favor hasn't been hitting at all.

Even got down to 10 cards left and both consecrates were still in the deck. Switched to warrior deck which is 50/50 but the most fun you can have with combos in the game.

I think I'll get to under 15 this month but never have enough time to get higher.

Good news on the cards time to get saving I think.....

Don't like the sound of additional boosts I like the RNG aspect of the game but don't want it to take over the game if you know what I mean....

UK pre-order pricing

Blizzard has now announced UK pricing for The Grand Tournament's pre-purchase offer, which costs £34.99 on PC, Mac and Android.

£34.99 is the standard price of 40 card packs, but this offer will net you 50 Grand Tournament packs when they launch plus a special card back.

It costs more on iPhone and iPad, however - £39.99.

I am all in for that pack deal. Trying to play catch up on cards from not having played since last year.

Jas72/Morganno got your friend invite and accepted.

Lodjik Thanks again for letting me spectate your game, nice short game it was too!

New expansion looks great, loads of new cards and even a new mechanic too. Lots of new Shaman cards (my favourite class) as well, so I am pretty pumped for this.

Oh damn, having to actually buy the expansion kinda sucks. I wish it was like GvG

Woah woah woah - what?! Surely you are mistaken; they wouldn't surely gate-off a set of cards behind a paywall like that would they?!

I thought the "pre-order" was essentially just you're paying for a bunch of card packs from the new expansion, and to sweeten the deal they'll throw in a card-back and a few more packs than you would usually get for the money...

Anyone? (I can't read the articles from work)

I can't confirm (I am at work as well) but FWIW I think your interpretation is correct. Its just a preorder discount to encourage people (like me) to spend more money on the game.

You should still be able to buy the new expansion packs with gold as well. It would be unfair and shamelessly "pay to win" if you could not.

Yeah I honestly don't see Blizzard going the pure "pay to win" route but wouldn't be completely surprised if it did happen.

I'm cool with it if they stick with a model where you can optionally pay to remove some grind (but not *too* much, the current gold return and pace of completing quests + arena F2P is reasonable imo)... also since the advantages you gain by shelling out cash are purely quicker access to a wider pool of cards it doesn't feel too unfair most of the time

(To be honest I like gradually working my way there; it means I have to try and come up with decks and strategies of my own instead of just looking up whatever flavour of the month deck is on hearthpwn etc. and copying it - each to their own of course)
