The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

Is that the Elk? (joust and if your minion is bigger, draw it) It's not quite as awful as some of the other cards, but that's just because the case where you lose the joust isn't that damaging, and a 3-2 for 2 is reasonable value wise ignoring the effect...

However for me the bigger issue with that one is assuming you're playing the card early on in the game then if you win the joust the minion you draw as a result probably won't be playable for quite a few turns - so it's probably less useful on average than if it just said "if you win the joust, draw a card" - at least then there'd be a chance you draw into something you can play on the next turn or similar

Well against Aggro decks Joust could be quite useful, considering the lower mana cost minions they would take, you're likely to win most Joust's.

Time will tell - I just have a feeling that the Joust cards are still going to be too slow against Aggro, with the added penalty that if you come up against a handlock or control warrior or any other popular deck which isn't super cheap like face hunter etc. you just have a deck with several really bad value cards in...

It's definitely going to be interesting...

Last night there were numerous posts on reddit of people showing various chest rewards. Chests attained at Legend rank were better than chests at Rank 5. If you click this link you'll see a Legend chest giving 4 golden cards and no dust. Next to it is a Rank 5 chest for comparison.

That's a recent alteration. Blizzard decided to give Legend ranked players a third golden common in place of the Dust reward.

Overall, your first aim is rank 15 where you get a golden rare. After that, it's not really worth grinding unless you can hit rank 5 and get the golden epic. Ranks above that only give an extra 5-40 Dust (or maybe a golden common you want), so unless you want to make the push for Legend you can park there.

I think I can hit 10 if I try, but I don't have the patience to grind to rank 5. Too many cancer hunters and patron warriors the higher you go. Not fun at all.

Mmm, currently at rank 7 + 1 star and there seem to be a lot of decks with card quality way higher than mine, plus a lot of patron + face... Actually contemplating swapping in 2x Sludge (or 2x Argus) and 2x Grizzly into my deck (posted above) to try and shutdown some of it... Not sure what for yet...

Maybe 2x Grizzly instead of 2x Animal Companion (as often the taunt is what I'm hoping for in recent matches anyway)... Maybe sludges in place of shredders, not sure

Raging again this morning :p - was briefly up to rank 7 + 4 stars but now back to 1 star...

It's not actually even the face hunters at the moment bothering me, I just get one of those every now again and lose and move on... it's the other decks that require almost zero-skill apart from "get the following 2 or 3 cards in your hand == insta-win"...

Like the annoying Druid force-of-nature savage-roar combo... 20+ damage instantly in a single turn with really very little you can do to stop it (save for happening to have loads of taunt out on the board). You know it's cheap when the other player feels they have to apologise before doing it

I play that deck and enjoy it :p. It is a powerful combo deck, but I do feel it is balanced in a way that say, Grim Patron is not.

Druid FoN+SR combo does not punish you for playing your own minions the way Patron does, or have an amazing card draw engine (Acolyte, Battle Rage).

Its also less consistent, if you don't draw the early game ramp cards you get punished with a super weak early game.

All that said I know it must be frustrating to be on the end of 20+ damage in one turn.

How many packs are people intending on opening tonight?

I'll be opening 150-200 unless I get lucky with everything I need/want in the first 100 or so.

Does the update go live tonight? Any idea what time? I have 50 to open and cannot really afford anymore until I get paid. Although I have 3300 dust as well so will craft 2 of the legendaries I want as well.

I'll be opening the 50 from my pre-order plus another 50 from saved gold.

Fingers crossed to get a couple of the legendries/epics that I actually want, but it should at least be enough to give me options for a few new deck types to try out whilst waiting for the dust to settle (no pun intended) and figure out what the 'must craft' cards turn out to be.

Between 6-11 our time assuming there aren't server issues.
