The Official Hearthstone : Heroes of Warcraft Thread

Cant wait for standard. So boring playing against the same deck over and over.

Face hunter? Woo well done.
Armour up warrior? woo well done.
Mech Mage? Woo well done.

Ive been playing Murloc Paladin just to break the monotony even if its only for myself. Rank 13 with it, not terrible.

You need early taunts (deathlords/senjin/belcher) and holy nova / lightbomb in your hand. Make sure you heal yourself rather than healing minions all the time - a warlock can charge combo up to 24dmg in one turn so count their POs (could come from Dark Peddlers too so up to 4).

I played self made zoo deck yesterday which got me from r18 to r11 and the biggest mistake I found priests are doing is worrying too much about minions on their board and forgetting about their own HP. It doesn't matter if you have 3-4 minions on the board vs 1 of mine if your hp is at 15-20 or less.

Also, always play your minions vs aggro even if they can die instantly, don't hold them in your hand waiting for better value (say holding cleric until you have damaged minions on board).
Some good advice here, thanks. I tend to save cards until I can play them in a combo with Northshire for example, and yes I tend to heal my minions to keep them on the board.#

Prob explains why I've never made it past r15 :).

its just getting used to the game, knowing how to play against certain decks etc.

it will all change soon, a much needed change at that.

the more you play the more you learn the decks.

This game is so diverse. Not.

Last 12 games which I have lost.

6 face hunters. 4 secret paladin. 2 zoo

Challenges only for me now until wild/standard comes into effect.

I'm not sure what to do with my gold (I'll have about 4500 when the expac drops).

Should I blow it all on new cards? Blow all but maybe 1k on new cards to put towards the next adventure?
Should I try and complete the classic set? I have a lot of classic cards but nowhere near the full set but every pack I get from tavern brawl is pretty much 90% dust.

Yes, what I've learnt recently from streams is that any play is better than not playing anything and skipping the turn. You might throw that one cleric and even if it dies instantly to a spell what that does is it forces your opponent to react and spend their turn dealing with your threat instead of playing their own cards. If you just skip turn and do nothing they gain tempo and board advantage and it's hard to climb back from that (unless it's turn 5-7 and you know you can clear entire board next turn with lightbomb/nova/auchenai combo).

Unstable ghoul/explosive sheep/doomsayer works extremely well as well vs zoo/aggro decks so you might consider adding one or two of those to your deck.

Why not wait until all the cards are released, wait 2 weeks for pro's/streamers/hardcore players to chew through initial set of decks and see if there is something that you like and work towards that?

At this point it's impossible to tell what everyone is going to come up with and what will or will not be in the decks.

Blow all on new packs. I got about 3k gold now and will be doing the same (although apart from some legendaries I have almost a full collection of classics)

My 2x Golden FoN will be DEd as they are now useless. That's 3200 dust. Everything else seems reasonable bar Blade Flurry but that **** was annoying and needed to go.

I'm kind of annoyed about the premature release as I had only just spent 5k dust crafting TGT/classic stuff week ago as the release was rumoured to be scheduled for late may...

You must have got the wrong end of the stick somewhere. It was never rumoured for late May at any point.

Gutted about Knife Juggler though. The very aspect which made it OP, the juggles, was somehow completely missed by Blizzard. It losing 1 attack doesn't change much when the main issue was Juggler + Unleash or Juggler + Muster/Implosion, although the latter is a Wild combo now.
