The nerfed cards will return their full crafting cost in dust for two weeks. After that it's back to the normal rate.

There was also an announcement that you'll be able to get up to 12 or 13 free WOTOG packs by winning games in Standard. These are "Legendary" quests that use one of your three slots, so keep one clear or you'll lose the least progressed of your dailies.

3 free packs for logging in
5 free for winning 2 games in standard mode
5 free for winning 7 more game sin standard
Plus the C'thun and some base cultists after opening 1st pack
 
i really want to get back into this but haven't played for a couple of years i have some of the classic cards and naxx and blackrock expansions, just not sure what should i buy to build my deck again? im gonna buy the following i think:-

league of explorers expansion
new whispers 50 card pack
40 pack of grand tournament

anything else i should get or will that be ok?

Is this just logging and playing after the release? Not done special or order thing or in a certain weekend? Just log on and play as normal?

I'd hold it with the 40 TGT packs until update, it's possible that you won't be playing any of them.

As mentioned before, you get 3 packs for logging in and then you get quest which gives you 5 packs and after that another quest for another 5 packs = 13 packs total.
 
Hard to say - if you watched the stream they played you'd see the multitude of deathrattle cards which will make it hard to clear/control for freeze mage. The C'thun decks are quite high tempo overall as well and some of them like priest will be able to heal to full instantly after alex on turn 9 and without scientists it will be a lot harder to pull off the perfect combo or get all the iceblocks/barriers to survive.

Basically if you don't draw 4 of your secrets early you're most likely to die before you can pull the combo off. It wasn't that good anyway recently with all the zoo and control warriors running around..

It's will be just like Standard and Legacy in Magic the Gathering, plenty of people play both formats.
 
Just lauched Hearthstone and the nerf is already live.

I wanted a couple more days with my zoo....

So long Arcane Golem and Leper Gnome. (Although the latter now has synergy with Hobgoblin pally deck.)

Good news is I now have 1650 dust :D
 
Just use Leeroy, I don't think I've used leper gnome in my deck either.

Yes, I'm quite happy to have dusted my golden big game hunter, ancient of lores and FONs for a nice 3200 dust combined. Thought why not, might not use them anymore and if I ever need them I can craft for same cost.
