*** The Official Heaven Benchmark Thread ***

GTX460 @ 875/1750/2050

Still stress testing my overclocks, so using my monitor's native res of 1680x1050 and 16AF and 4Aa to push things a bit.

Still hoping for another 25MHz core and 100MHz or so memory, but pleased with how things are going at the moment (except for my annoying sound issues with this card...)

PNY GTX460 1GB SLI @ 920core/4350mem @ 1920x1200.

At above speeds these are about 35% faster than my GTX580 at stock, and 15-20% faster than the GTX580 once it has been overclocked to 930/4400. Both PNY cards cost £240 delivered vs ~£360 for the 580. The 460's are a part of a new build I am completing for my neighbour's son.

edit: My GTX580 scores 58.4fps at stock and 68.8fps when overclocked. I think a pair of GTX460's offer brilliant performance per £ for resoltions up to 1920x1200. They simply destroy 6950's, 6970's and GTX480's for similar or less money.

I get that benchmarks are run at 1920*1080 as some people might not be able to do 1920*1200. But why not enable AA or have higher AF?
Some people ran with 4xAA and 16xAF, why not really push the cards by enabling these?

I guess what I'm basically asking is why run with the settings most people are? Are they widely accepted as the setting to use in Heaven or is it just because they're the defaults?

I understand benching threads are all about virtual willy waving, but wouldn't it benefit everyone to run at same settings and leave the "my card is better than yours" BS to another thread.

Surely this is all about showing what results your set up gets, if you are going to get upset about it save up and get SLI 580s :(

nobody is arguing ok.. don't make something out of nothing..

Didn't say anyone was arguing, i was just making the point that keeping to the facts without any fanboyism or silly comments would make this thread far more useful for anyone looking to make a decision on buying a new GFX card.
I wasn't making the point at anyone in particular, its just i have seen a lot of posts on this part of the forum (for some reason i will never understand) from a lot of people who seem like they know what they are talking about elsewhere on the forums turn into unrational people due to what graphics card they own at the time...like i said good advice seems to go out of the window.
