***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

Do you have any guides to help me set up streaming with kalemsoft? What hd resolution are you streaming?

Cheers :)

Managed to get it working - seems i have to have 2 instances running of the program for it to connect - strange.

Anyway, apart from changing the streaming quality to 'high' is there any other way of improving the quality?

when looking at the statistics it shows the bitrate being approx 2000Kbps

although switching is possibly nicer you lose the desktop so it's a 6/half-dozen situation...

I think I would prefer the homescreen/desktop to the cards, and I really dislike the 4 seperate pages of apps/downloads/fav/settings in the menu.

WebOs could do with some widgets too, although the top right dropdown is handy, the background is wasted when you have no apps open.

Can somebody please help me with my Kalemsoft streaming?

I have it workign fine locally on the home network. In fact better than fine as sat on the sofa or in bed watching hd movies stream without a fault is amazing.

Remotely I can't get past my firewalls and it's all gibberish to me! I have windows 7 home premium and a 2wire bt router.

Any idiot proof instructions in setting it up would be great.

Thanks

You mean remotley from another location?? If so, don't get hung up on it, its so patchy to be almost unwatchable depending on the content.

what widgets would you want?

Well done... but in what way do you think the screen is "better"?

Has anyone found out a way to open emails with the client software that shows the same graphics etc as if opening it through the web browser? Kind of annoying to have to click on the html links to see the email clearly....

Regardless of whether I successfully dis-mount the Touchpad from the Windows tray, I still get an "Ooowwww..." etc. message on the Touchpad when physically removing the cable from my PC.

Anyone having this issue?

Agreed with the "No Marketplace = No Android" sentiment, for me at least.

Sure you can sideload I guess but screw that for a laugh.

I agree, but why wouldn't there be a market, yes it won't come in the same image as CM7 (due to the 'old' cease-and-desist letter he got from Google) but somebody will package up some suitable gapps to install, yeah it's one more step of the install but that's it...

Can someone explain to me why they wouldnt put the app store on it and why google wouldnt want that? Surely it means a bigger audience of people buying google apps??!

My word, just managed to get hold of two 32GB touchpads from CPW. Phoned up, in stock within 20 minutes of previous phone call.

Got in store, finished purchasing and the last one went to some other dude.

Crazy how fast these are going!

Google won't want it as having a market makes it an 'approved' device, so needs to go through testing etc at Google, I believe money has to change hands as well...

For the purposes of us though I'm sure someone will take the market app off another tablet and release that along with the other 'gapps' packages.

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions...

My touchpad won't connect to my WiFi unless I set my router to WEP encryption. At the moment, I have a 17 character WPA/WPA2 key. But no matter how many characters I change it to, as long as it is set to WPA or WPA2 encryption the touchpad just says 'Error Connecting'.

If I change my encryption type to WEP encryption, it connects fine. I've really got no idea what to do. Anyone else had this problem? I did a quick search but couldn't find anything on here or Google.

I have a D-Link 2740B Wireless N Modem/Router if it helps.

Thanks

Do you have Authentication set up on your router? On mine, I sometimes have to press a button on the router to allow wireless devices to connect to it the first time.

Did anyone get a touchpad shipped direct from westcoast, via City Link?

If so, who did you order from? I have a card that was left in a STUPID place from the 31st of august!!

Only just discovered today, and called city link who told me it had been returned to westcoast, who are not around till tommorrow...
