***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

Gah, went to do some couch surfing today, noticed a very small crack on the left channel speaker. Gutted. :(

I've made every effort to look after it and never even knock it. Kind of worried about RMA, don't want to get a duff one. I do wonder, are they all prone to this or did they fix it for the retained stock?

Strange why you say official one is crap -in what way?

My 5yr old does not treat his with any special care and in its official case it seems fine, and hes had it a few weeks now.

It could be batch issue though?

Personal opinion I'm sure but the screen cover just makes it a pain to hold.

And people tend to hold this tablet by the corners by the speakers and because this tablet is a bit of a porker it causes some flexing and the edges of the speaker holes are sharp edges which are a natural weakspot the plastic cracks. Thats my theory anyway.

That was pretty much my theory as well. Unfortunately it seems to be an inherent design flaw so even if you send it back it will so the same with the new one... Unless they change the material the back is made from.

Or chamfer of the edge of the speaker holes so it's not a sharp corner.

how do copy files from my pc to my TP trough wireless?

I use Wifi Media Sync 3 (£2.50 from the App Catalog) and it does everything I need. (Thanks to member 'Pigeon Killer' for the recommendation)

It may be worth looking up TeamViewer which is web-based, it seems to be free and work on the TouchPad, I havent tried it myself yet though.

Been using my Touchpad all day just surfing the net and down to 35% battery. I think its gone low because its on max brightness and my WiFi reception is pants

maybe it's worth holding it "upside" down then. i do this because of the sharp speakers and it works no different except when playing a full screen video it auto spins it back

Aside from pressing the volume keys all the time it probably wouldn't make a difference. There are two holes in the same location on that side too.

Can the Touchpad power adapter be used with the HTC Desire?

Reason I ask is, I've bought the international travel adapter kit for the touchpad because I'm going to the US next week. I wanted to take my Desire as a music player, but I don't have an international charger.

If I plug my Desire into the Touchpad adapter, will it blow up?
