***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

It's arrived:

Let the fun begin. :D

Whats the case like? i have one reserved if i want it so would value your opinion? :)

Erm. You will be able to buy it? That is quite some time away however.

I think I know where you're trying to go but the fact remains these things are not on the same level as pc's or tablet pc's.

I have tried using keynote/numbers/pages on the iPad, it's rather painful.

Sorta playing Devils advocate there tbh, but it is something to think about. Phones and Laptops are starting to have a merged point in the centre so the Laptops and Mobiles forums may end up having to be a bit closer togother in the future.

Can you charge the touchpad in the Touchstone if it's in the official case?
Yup. Good luck sourcing those if you don't already have them. Stock is going as fast as the TP itself.

Indeed, that is a possibility but we'll come to that when we do. :)

Also, nice work on the forum rename and the moving of the thread.

Yes, it works as far as I know!

I bought a couple of the Touchstone chargers this morning and an official case. I confess I only tried it once but it didn't seem to charge through the case. I will go and try again and update the thread.

Well that made a liar of me! I can confirm it does charge through the case and even seemed to do so if you had the front cover folded around behind it. Going to order a case for me too then. :)

I'm not going to get one - really don't see the point, the tablet will be used primarily on the sofa, in bed or whilst having a poo. I am however planning to build one myself. It obviously won't have wireless charging but who really cares.

Can I recommend the 3M LX550 ? I have had one for a couple of years for my regular tablet laptop. Works well with the TouchPad :)

Any ETA on getting Android on it?

I wont put Android on it, if Synology make a WebOS app.
It'd be perfect for me at home with my Diskstation!
