***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

I suggest the Sennheiser PX100 as a decent set of headphones. The mk2 have more bass than the mk1's and much better build quality. Can be had for £30 still if you shop around. The purple shirts will charge you £40+ for them.

I'd say they're the best bang for buck you can find for an on ear headsets and the reviews tend to agree.

Can anyone recommend some free software to rip a dvd and the settings to rip to that are compatible with the touchpad with web os, we go away Friday and I want to rip some dvds for my daughter, stop her getting bored in the car.

Also what player?

Anyone lost sound when they plug in headphones? Just updated the firmware yesterday and when I play YouTube vids the sounds fine until I try and connect headphones (tried two different pairs already)

Any ideas?

EDIT: Seems an issue caused by the 3.0.4 update - most seem to get stuck in either speaker or headset mode. Shutdown seems to help, HP working on a fix - http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touchpad/305094-no-sound-via-speaker-touchpad.html

I'm thinking of buying a 16 gig from a certain eBay seller. Will the WebOS be usable until the Android port reaches a stable beta? I.e., are there enough apps to keep me busy? I would like to use it as a couch surfer, for games, and importantly, as a video player (AVI and MKV) without recoding anything. Has anyone played any recent MKVs flawlessly on WebOS? Were subtitles also present?

Browsing is fine with the latest update, although there still isn't a scroll bar.

I don't play games on my phone or my tablet really, I have Angry Birds on it though which works great.

Video player wise I use Kalemsoft Media player, costs a few quid but worth every penny. Has handled all my avi and mkv files no problem at all.

why how much you seen them for?

Can anyone recommend me a hard plastic backing case?

I've had numerous cases but I dont like them and I can't show off my facebook exhibition app when I'm charging it up on my HP Touchstone...

I got the X design gel case but I'm a little disappointed with it as I feel the edges of the HP TouchPad are a little exposed.

Someone out there must be able to help me out!!
