***The Official HP TouchPad Thread***

To dismiss a notification for a new search engine -

When it comes up and changes to the small drop down menu

Tap on it to bring up what it is

And the swipe it off of the screen and it will get rid of it. So just hold tap and swipe, to the right. :)

You can change and delete what search engines you have saved in the system settings by the way.

I got Kindle onto the touchpad, however it is a waste of time as you cannot add books to it either via your PC, Syncing to Amazon or shoving them in the kindle folder on the touchpad.

Waste of time.

I've just managed to get Sherlock it fine. Just selected it on amazon.co.uk then went back to the kindle app and it downloaded it almost immediately.

That's cool, the touchpad selection in the deliver to section was greyed out the first time I tried.

Still can't get any of my .mobi books on it though. They work fine on my kindle or PC (just drag and drop). The touchpad app doesn't see them at all.

Great.

How do I remove ones that I have added? From under "just type"? I can deselect them, but no obvious way of removing them.

How long does a full charge take then?

About 3 hours IIRC.

Errr not sure will have a play now.

Where can you get the Kindle app from? I want books!

Here's what to do on 3.0.2:

Download Impostah from Preware.

- Open Impostah
- Choose Activation
- Choose US, English, a new email address, and a password
- Tap Create Profile (then click yes through everything)
- Tap Login
- Open App Catalog, which will prompt you to choose country. Choose US.

- Open up Impostah again
- Choose App catalog
- enter com.palm.app.kindle
- Get info
- Install

- Open Impostah (again!)
- Choose Activation
- Choose your own country, your preferred language, the email address of your original profile, and the password
- log in to the profile

Liking it so far.

Loving the full flash support on the web. Who needs apps when you have that anyway!:p

There are a few niggles. Anyone noticed that on the latest update, if you try go on a BBC page with a video on it, the site will keep refreshing. Iplayer (the actual site) works flawlessly though so i dont know whats going on there.

Liking the skype/gmail integration for videochat/IM e.t.c

To be honest if i had paid £400 for it i would probably be a tad dissapointed as i know there are frankly better tabs out there but a 32gb tablet with the same screen as the Ipad 2,a slick OS and full flash support for £115 is a no brainer!

If someone makes it possible to dual boot this with a recent version of Android, we will all be laughing :)

Ooooo I did see that post earlier, just didn't bother to read it. :p Thanks.

It's saying that it is not found. :(

No I'm not, fail by me. I have an excuse though, I'm being weirded out right now. :p Will do it properly in a bit. :D

The boss decided my touchpad is going to be my birthday present and so i've not been allowed to spend more than 5 minutes with it. Harsh, but she must be obeyed :p

are you exiting Impostah after setting to US and login in?

You then open the App Store as normal, set to US when prompted. close the App Store, reopen Impostah and follow the rest of the instructions.

When I try and go into the App Store after setting the location to US it comes up saying 'This action could not be completed. Try again later.' :(

edit---->

It's worked!!
