its apparently a reasonably common priblem . There us a bug thread about it on pre central.
unlucky though mate, I think your the first person in ocuk to gave this problem. (yet!).
Yeah just been reading that thread, think i will contact HP in the next few days for a new unit or refurb :/

none that wouldn't apply to any computer with WiFi connection really. Infact, you're probably safer using your Touchpad, as the chances of having a virus/exploit that compromise security are lower. Notice the absence of anti-virus.

Same as any tablet, hold the power button on the top and it will give you some choices on screen.

Currently using mine as a glorified bedside clock until Android or more apps arrive. Is there likely to be any harm in keeping it in the touchstone for the majority of the time?

You won't harm the tablet or the touchstone but you do run the risk of image retention or screen burn on the display.
I last charged mine Thursday day time. Currently at 40% battery. Say around 1-1.5 hours use per day maximum. I hnestly see no reason to turn it completely off if you are using it every day. Especially because of the boot up tim.

Anyway, anyone with a Pre 3 (or 2, or even 1) managed to use MyTether with the Touchpad?
Surprised no official app from HP, I'd probably be all over the Pre3 if I could get it to tether, or perhaps I'm still trying to badly justify getting the Pre. ugh.

Man, I'm still trying to justify it too! It's starting to fade away for me. Won't ever see a Pre3.
