*** The official HTC One S thread ***

Quick question, I bought Shadowgun as it's on sale at the moment, but once i go through the menus and get to where I presume game play starts, it kicks me back to my home screen.

Anyone got it working on their One S? I'm not supposed to use the Tegra 3 version, no?

A few people have, some even got the X+ battery (out of stock now), although I don't think they would have got genuine models......

Near the end of that page and the last page. Unfortunately no one has posted any info. about battery life.

Don't really want to order the 2000mAh as it is being shipped from Hong Kong so will take forever to arrive! Or most likely end up lost :o :p and plus probably be a pita to deal with returns etc.

Keep an eye on the thread in the one X forum, a lot more active and supposedly there will be more X+ batteries arriving next month.

@Scam the non tegra version of shadowgun works fine with the one S:

Emu how does the screen sensitivity feel compared to other phones? Quite a few reviewers have said that it seems to not be as "buttery/sensitive" to touch/scroll i.e.
Do you find that noticeable/annoying?

You should know the drill by now, what's the only difference in that review? :D

Chrome sucks!

Thanks for that, perhaps ill wait a bit then.

Pfffffft! Thought that might happen :D :p

havent seen anything like that yet

a few days on and i am still loving the device

screen on time today was 3 and half hours with loads of retro gaming and being on 3g all day

Ok thanks. Probably something wrong with their "review samples"

As I said in another thread, I think I am just going to wait until May for google's I/O to see what KLP will be like and if it is really good then I'll get the N4 or perhaps the google/motorola X phone depending on price and specs etc. (that's if it even comes out! :p)

As awesome as the N4 is, I just can't see "myself" being happy with the LCD screen and not as good camera on the whole.

Oh!

Looking good that. Would have liked a bigger screen this time but I can live with 4.3", and they do feel much for one handed use, hopefully this time the screen will be a bit shorter but wider. Please let it be samoled!!!

Also would have liked a much bigger battery although battery life could be very good depending on what the chipset and screen type is and of course software optimisation.

Hope we get some more info.on that soon.

Less than two weeks left Mate until HTC reveal all! :D

Yup :D

Although I am liking the rumours going around about the M7 at the minute (have a feeling that it is going to be rather excellent), so I might just have to deal with a LCD based screen :p Hopefully the M4 will be pretty similar to the M7 just like the one S and X.

Not doing anything till I see KLP along with hopefully the google/motorola X phone though and possibly the GS 4....... :p

The M7 will be an excellent phone no doubt! :D
I can see HTC going along the same lines as the HOX / HOS whereby people will rush out to get the M7 and the M4 will no doubt be the better phone.
The Motorola X Phone looks like it may well be real and happening...see my post in the X thread...if true the spec sheet is pretty damn impressive and will blow the Nexus 4 away and anything else for that matter! Roll on May and Google I/O!

Unfortunately it looks like HTC realised there mistakes with the "high" and "mid" range one series phones and this time by the looks of it, the M7 will be the true "high end/flagship" device :p :(

Yup, just seen that post of yours, looking absolutely superb! However, if true, there is no way it will be that cheap! Apple, HTC etc. charge a fortune for extra internal space :( and there max is only 64GB!!! :p If it is SAMOLED screen then I am sold! :p

Damn you HTC! Why....Why...Why? I loved rubbing salt into HOX owners wounds when I had the HOS! I enjoyed it! :D

True the Motorola X Phone won't be that cheap as manufacturers have us over a barrel when it comes to internal memory.

I think your estimate of £400 for the phone is about right anything under and we will have the debacle of the Nexus 4 again. I so don't want to go through that again.

Indeed! :D

And indeed again! :p I certainly hope google/motorola will get the play store issues sorted out and plenty of stock this time round and do it in such a way so that no one can order any more than 2 devices  Otherwise it is going to be a instant fail again, there would have been a **** load more nexus 4 owners if they didn't **** up

Oh you can see it happening again. Google didn't learn with the Nexus 7 debacle and they repeated the same mistake with the Nexus 4. Let's be honest Google aren't exactly the brightest when it comes to selling their product online and are way behind Apple.

Not long until the M7 comes out...are you going to officially retire your HOS? It's been a trusty friend to you this past year :)

Really hope it doesn't :( Especially as this is Motorola's chance to get back into the game and hopefully take a chunk of the android market share away from Samsung.

Won't be doing anything until May and if some more info. pops up about the GS 4 and is sounding good then I'll wait to see what it is like.

Indeed, it has been a rock solid and superb phone on the whole (will have had it for a year come April), I really can't fault it at all apart from rooting and flashing custom ROMs etc. looking like a right pita

The only thing I really want from a new phone, is much better battery life (RAZR Maxx levels! :D), slightly bigger (no more than 5") and higher res. screen (preferably 1080P but would be more than happy with 720P) and of course a super nice design and easy to root and flash custom roms etc. (not actually really necessary as long as the OEM skin is good) Everything else like an improved camera, audio etc. is welcome too but not "necessary" as the one S is already is excellent in these areas and then bonus things would be water proof. *No longer care about CPU/GPU performance as it is plenty for phones and my usage these days

* Unless it makes a significant difference to battery life :p

Yeah, I'm in no rush to change the HOS. We only need a few minor hardware improvements, none of which would improve my usage/experience (only high end software support would do that :D)

I loved rubbing salt into HOX owners wounds when I had the HOS! I enjoyed it! :D

...and we got some epic deals for a 4.3" flagship phone no-one was buying.

Samsung really have taken the Android market by the scruff of the neck and given it a shake! Motorola have a chance to shine here and will be extremely careless if they miss the chance to become one of the major players in the market.

The lack of developer support and the ease of rooting HTC phones is the only thing stopping me from getting the M7. It's so easy to root and install custom ROMS on the S3.

CPU/GPU performance really doesn't matter anymore as the HOS showed that if done properly and with a supposedly weaker chipset it could still keep up and if not outperform HTC's flagship phone :D

The HOS has a great camera, the only thing that lets it down in my opinion is the lack of hi res screen (not being 720p) and the fixed memory.

Your wish list for the next phone is extremely sensible :)
The next couple of months will be very interesting!
