*** The official HTC One S thread ***

viper rom..................elemental kernel......................kernel tuner..............= sweet

Once phone is rooted and a customer recovery installed its easy to flash roms.......last track of the amount of times ive done it.

Gavin since you're on viper you should know the answer! :D :p

Can you get a proper stock android theme for viper? As in one that changes the settings menu, notification tray to a stock android look?

Mine does look like stock i believe?

Apart from of course..................The viper additions to the menu............

My notification bit looks like my old orange san fran as well so would imagine its fine?

Having problems finding this phone now...EE no longer stock this, just the crappy One SV....

I take it HTC are done with this phone then?

I would say the sites are done with it, probably didn't sell enough within a certain period so never ordered any more in.

As for HTC and supporting it, no idea, I would be shocked if they abandoned it so soon.......

I don't geddit?

What don't you get? :p

Phones that have the qualcomm chips = phones that charge quicker compared to other phones..........simples :p

Seems I am getting confused :o

So venom is the name of the developing team and viper is their ROM :o

Could you post a pic of your notification tray and settings menu please gavin?

Maybe we will get further improvement in that tech. scam! :D :p

Yeah, apparently there are other chipsets out there with similar tech. supposedly the nova chipset in some sony phone iirc has a similar charging tech. It takes forever to charge the one S on a USB connection plugged into the PC! So always just charge mine from the mains, have never timed it but it seems to take a couple of hours to charge from 10-15% to 100% (when the NLED goes green)

Some good news btw!

Not sure if I'll bother now though because:

1. not sure how much longer I'll have this phone so not much point spending £25-30 for the sake of a few months (need to order the tools for taking apart the S)
2. apparently there is a gap, the guy who said there wasn't posted back saying that there actually is:

Mea culpa, now that i had the chance to look at the phone in a good light there is a slight gap. As I use a case, it doesn't show

I use the rock case so it wouldn't really affect me, but would annoy me knowing that it is there! :p :o

Oh dear....... Just took the rock case of for the first time since I got it and now I don't want to put it back on :( :p just love the feel, design, thinness too much. Also love the way the glass molds of the sides.

What one is that tauren?

Just wish the stock android camera could produce the same quality of photos and videos and include the features of the sense camera, would be on a stock android ROM in a heartbeat if they could. Shame there doesn't seem to be any proper stock android theme for sense based ROMs like there is for the one X :(

Good to see! Shame it hasn't taken so long though :( :p

Does that mean there will be easier/quicker methods of rooting and flashing custom ROMs now?

BTW, just noticed that HTC implemented the open/close app jellybean animations as I put the Nova settings to system default and still had jb animations.

Your right it has taken a fair while. A bit too late as the new phones are nearly here.

All welcomed nevertheless. I think it's something One S owners have got over the One X :)

Flashing boot animations is easy now if that's your thing.
