Yup! :p :) The one S is still going strong and I could quite happily use it for another 3-5 months, heck could happily use it for the remainder of my contract! :p

Can't wait to see what the htc one camera would be like for those sort of conditions in regards to the exposure/lighting as it is rather annoying all the parts where you have these objects that are just glowing white with no detail whatsoever.

Indeed :cool: One of my favourite things about the one S, the quality and just the features/UI etc. are the best imo. The slow motion recording alone is a feature worth considering compared to other phones, unfortunately there is nothing on the market that replicates it and the only other phone to have it afaik is the note II, strange the way Samsung didn't provide it to the GS 3 (afaik) :confused:

HTC hit a home run with the HOS IMHO, the most underrated phone ever :cool:

It's because Samsung want to differentiate between the Note 2 and S3, I bet the Note 3 will have features that are missing in the S4. It's always been the case.

Indeed! Even HtC under estimated the phone lol :D :p Aced all the reviews :cool:, only complaint was storage and the pentile pixel arrangement.

Shame as the note phones are very good in their own ways compared to the galaxy phones i.e. screen and battery as well as the S-pen, those 3 things alone are enough to differentiate between them. Should keep the software the same, although obviously have all the wee features that utilise the S-pen for the note only.
 
Are HTC still supporting the One S with updates etc? I'm sure there is another due sometime to 4.1.2?

I'm still loving mine. Had it nearly a year, and have another year after that on my contract and I'm more than happy to carry on using it for that long!
 
Apparently we will be getting sense V5/4.1.2 but a cut down version as to when, no idea.

Just hope they keep the camera stuff I.e. zoe

Exactly...HTC thought they had it covered with the HOX, little did they know that the public would take the HOS and prefer it over their flagship phone.

Power to the people! :p

I agree with you though, storage was a problem 16Gb might be ok for some but only making 10Gb available to the user was a travesty.

The screen as much as it was brilliant, the pentile arrangement was slightly off in term of tech. They could've used a better screen, still such a damn good phone and despite having quite a few phones afterwards, I do miss it.

Personally I don't have any problems with 16GB (10GB + 2.21GB for apps), if I stored music and installed those big games like the dark knight etc. then it would be a problem though (I can see why 16GB is on the low side for some people though). Most of my storage is just for photos/videos and general apps with standard games like angry birds etc. and I back up everything each day so could always clear things up.

The screen is one thing, which is highly under rated imho, all the review sites slated it for the pentile and I was expecting to be disappointed with it in person but was shocked at how good it was (imo) when I seen it for myself, yes you can see the pentile effect, more so with white text on a black background but I only really notice it when looking for it and with my face really close to the screen. Everything else about it outweighs that issue i.e. being the best calibrated SAMOLED display, whites are the best that I have seen for SAMOLED (apparently the razr i is better, haven't seen for myself though), excellent for view ability in the sunshine, no tints/weird issues and of course all the other advantages of SAMOLED.

Everyone that has seen my phone has always commented on how lovely the screen is. SAMOLED = win! :p :cool:

Supposedly the reason they went with pentile over RGB was due to pentile being better for battery life (apparently same reason Samsung went with pentile for the GS 3 as well)

As you might be recall I have a long commute to and and from work and I need to keep quite a few films and music on the phone, I got tired of organising the phone every few days and making sure the memory was free, it became tiresome to say the least.

I remember the reviews were going to town on the screen but I remember the very first time I saw the HOS in CPW and was amazed by how good it looked and was left wondering what the reviewers were moaning about.

At least HTC made a reasonable decision to keep battery life going strong in the end, the last thing you want is a phone that doesnt last the day or requires you to be attached to a power socket! :eek:

I just hope that zoe isn't one of the features which they will be removing.....

TBH if sense V5 improves most of the areas even further, I think I could hang on to this phone for a good bit longer!

From reading around, sense V5 does sound a lot more minimalistic/cleaner than the current version and is closer to stock android :cool: So I am now looking forward to it a lot!
 
Question for you nexus18 as you seem to be an expert on this phone (and the reason for me parting with 330 of my hard earned cash lol)

If you go to settings > storage

On the top section, theres app storage which shows 6.07gb of total storage allocated for that. In this section, 3.94gb is allocated to other?? Not sure whats using that up.

In the bottom section, theres phone storage where 9.93gb is the total available. Here I can account for all used space.

Sorry if that is not clear.
 
As twist said, that space will be used by operating system stuff plus htc sense things i.e. apps, widgets etc.

Mine is:

apps - 811MB
other 4.03GB
Available 1.24GB

Don't worry it is normal :)
