A sorely needed mod that menu button - using Go Launcher.

I rebooted yesterday and the battery graph/stats remained - yay.

That last battery-life i.e. 3hrs @ 50% went on to 4.5hrs @ 10% in the end.

Yeah, I think once that update lands, I will switch back to go launcher from apex as that was the only reason I stopped using go in the end

Both Sprite and TC are quality you can see their personalities come through in the videos. The second video where you were waving that yellow fluffy thing at TC and he was having none of it for a minute was hilarious! Then he thought oh stuff it, if I have to play I'll have a go just to keep you happy. You could see he wasn't impressed!

Great examples of the what the HOS can do video wise!

Even with the samples above the S3 I think the S3 produces better results.

HOWEVER look at the low light picture below:

The HOS camera has managed to capture more detail in the background namely the wall and the flower pot, whereas the S3 camera didn't pick anything from the background up.

It's safe to say that the HOS camera works well under low light conditions

Best deal is still T-mobile for £21 a month with 750MB data, 100 minutes and unlimited texts.

- The first pair, I think the 1S is more pleasing due to the colours, but the GS 3 captures more detail around the shadowed/dark areas.

Draw I would say, but probably prefer the 1S.


- Hard to say for the second pair, the GS 3 does better with the shadows/darker areas, regarding colours both look more or less the same I think.

Would call it a draw overall again probably.


- For the 3rd pair, the GS 3 captures more detail and looks a bit sharper but the 1S has better colours to it.

Personally prefer the 1S photo there.


- For the 4th pair, I think the 1S looks better overall again largely due to the colours, the GS 3 looks sharper and captures more detail though, I think.


- For the 5th pair, very hard to say, both look good and more or less the same, again the 1S has more saturated colours (only a tiny bit in that one though) but the GS 3 seems to capture more detail in the wood.


- For the 6th pair, I think the 1S looks better overall for detail, colours and sharpness probably.


- For the 7th pair, the GS 3 looks better there in terms of detail and colours, particularly the leaves


- And for the low light shot, well not much needs to be said there


Definitely no where as much of a difference as the first set of photos IMO.

The first couple of pictures there are really weird. The trees and bushes on the 1S pics look kind of blurry, almost like when you move the cam slightly during a HDR shoot. Definitely not much in it overall and the low light is impressive.

That's the best thing about having two cats as they're going to have different personalities and each will have endearing features.

Sounds like nothing will get in TC's way when he wants food and why not! He's just like us blokes once we get hungry that's it, we get grumpy and start sulking until our bellies are fed!

Thanks for your detailed response in regards to the photos, having a look back at them it's strange. You're right some of the HOS photos are better than the S3 and vice versa. Colour reproduction seems better on the HOS than on the S3 and as you quite rightly pointed out details seem better on the S3!

I think both phones are impressive in their own right!

Thanks Mate, where I live it is nice...moved from London to Buckinghamshire around 6 years ago and I tell you what it was something of a shock! Gone from living in East London nearly all my life and moving to the quiet countryside has been a complete eye opener for me

To be honest although it's nice and peaceful around here I do miss the madness that is London, however I do get the best of both worlds as I commute to London every day for work

@Skillmister I agree! The first set of pictures are strange. The blurry effect on the trees is weird! The camera focussed when the shot was taken so I don't know why the leaves look so blurry.

Anyone who gets an S3 version of the One S will be extremely unlucky. All of us with the S4 version have the best and limited edition ones! Woo-hoo!

S3 (scorpion 45nm?) Snapdragon chipset may replace the better latest gen S4 (krait 28nm) due to shortages in S4 supply - it's in very high demand.

@stoosh - Great comparison pictures there - the HOS has a problem over over saturation but still produces great pictures - the S3 though seems excellent all round from the colours to sharpness,detail and contrast.

Yup, it is great, hard work though sometimes and can be quite costly regarding the food bills and vet bills (when something goes wrong )

He just goes mad for food, a few times he has knocked the food dish out of my hand when I was lowering it down for him and knocked the soft jelly food all over the floor and started eating away

As skillmister linked there, they have great deals and the £21 a month T-mobile one. Have had no problems with that site myself.


Basically everyone in this thread has the one S, which has the S4 CPU and it is in a league of its own (better than the quad in the X and it seems to just edge the GS 3 CPU as well) and due to that the one S is super quick and smooth (largely down to good optimization as well), on par with the GS 3 for this area and best of all, it is what gives the great battery life

The S3 version on the other hand is old gen, based on 45nm as opposed to the 28nm for the S4 iirc and thus is no where near the S4 overall, particularly the power efficiency thus poor battery life, even more so since it has been overclocked.

Although HTC says that performance will be more or less the same and that battery life will not be affected, but will see

So the S4 version is being phased out and replaced with the S3 (firstly in European and Asian markets) and to follow here soon as well (may already be new stock of the S3 here for all we know ) due to stock/demand/price and Samsung buying the last of it for their USA version of the GS 3.
