*** The official HTC One S thread ***

It's good enough without logging into those accounts, anyway A.I.Type is the best keyboard after the 5 row update. :p

pfffffft! :p

Currently using the JB keyboard and I like it a lot, but miss the cursor keys.

Also, hopefully us unbranded S users will see the update very soon as a guy in Sweden who hasn't got the bootloader unlocked etc. received the update today :D

Was showing my mates dad my old phone last night, giving him it in exchange for his old bike :p and was amazed at how "good" the camera was in low light. It actually looked like an infrared camera on the screen in comparison to the S which was almost black except for the stuff outside. Was almost greyscale though so hardly an impressive picture, just surprising how much light it picked up :p Only a terrible picture my brother took on his Desire to show it:

If you've upped the bitrate then surely the camera in video mode should be even better now, howver chewing through space a lot more quickly!?

Yup JPEG compression is forced at 100 instead of 85. Update coming tonight to fix a bug. Just have to be more organised with your content. 20mbps twice the space.

Anyone seen any cracking deals about ?
I'm about due to end my current contract, so hope to find a good deal.

Prefer 18months contracts tbh too, and that seems a problem area.

These are the best I have found so far, would be great if anything was around the £25pcm mark :p
Code:
HTC OneS Black 12months/300mins/500mb/Vodaphone (through Phones4u)
£100 cashback by multiple redemptions
300 minutes and Unlimited texts per month
Average line rental after cash back equivalent to: £27.67
Total contract cost over 12 months: £332.04
Free Handset

quidco is showing as £50 too.

Think this is beatable ?

I haven't got mine yet mate, but when I do I'll be sure to have a go :D

So you're getting the S then! :D

These are best I can find (but there 24 months though)

Don't think you're going to get any better than what you got there though :)

I decided against the Galaxy for definate mate. I held the One S demo thing in CPW when I went to get rid of the 4s and the HOS was the perfect size for my errr manly hands ;)

This new update is sounding absolutely superb!

- Apparently the signal has improved vastly along with the mobile data speeds/ping.
- Browser is much better/faster (Stock sense)
- wifi is much better
- camera is slightly better

:)

A lot of that is supr CID, rooting talk though, but there are a few posts every now and then, saying that things are better etc. here are just a few of those posts from the last few pages:

who tried this update??? Is there any improvement for the camera??? In previous releses there is a problem whit macro in low Light condition.
Sent whit HTC ONE S

For me yes. I was getting a greenish tinge in my photos wbich has now disappeared. I had no idea radio affected the camera

Can't say I have noticed any green tinge though.......

And what about the browser?? Works better than before???

Funnily enough, my browser is vastly improved, whilst my signal not so much.

The browser (stock) now runs like turbo broadband on a laptop, it's super fast and like butter.

I'm thinking the signal probably is improved but have read in a few places it's not always reflected in the bars on your phone. even though it is improved.

The new Radio is fantastic (for me). Installed with TWRP without any issues. y signal strength went from 2 to 5 bars and 3G speed improved by 60%!!

Very impressed with the new radio. Since flashing last night I haven't had any of the switching between 3G/H issues, my signal seems stronger and I haven't had any issues with my data connection being a bit flaky at times

Of course, some of us may not experience the exact same improvements or/and by the same amount etc.
