***The Official HTC One Thread***

I've left tabs open in the browser all day or longer and they load up within moments so no problems there - multi tasking isn't *that* bad really.

Well on iPad it's instant. Does it feel like browser is reloading the web page or does it feel like its kept it open? I'm curious as I frequently fill web pages and it reloads when I go and do something else on the phone. How about games ? How long are they kept in the memory.

I have been flipping through at least 3 - 5 apps (FPSE was one of them, been trying something with my Nexus 10 :p) and none of them had to reload, the multitasking is a lot better than what was on the HTC One X.

Comparing the multitasking to that of an iPhone, I find that it is faster, web pages are there almost instantly, as well as being back in another app, such as twitter, and being able to use it straight away, where as there was always a small delay with iOS. I find it rather good :)

The changing between apps is instant for sure - yea no lag at all in loading between diff ones!

The web pages are kept loaded too - to the point where you last left so a refresh is needed if you have the BBC football page open I've found in order to get latest scores but the page itself is still there totally intact.

Just synced the TV app with my telly and Sky Box, awesome! You can control almost everything from the phone, volume, channels, pause, play etc. Our remote is all over the place so this will be very handy!

yeah done the same, sooooo handy, won't miss another episode of the big bang theory :p

NFC stuff looks cool, not played with it yet

What stuff works with it in the UK?

I noticed at some bus stops, they have put in a red strip so you can load the timetable on your phone by using either QR code or NFC. Haven't seen NFC anywhere else yet though.

need to go into the main app and you have a setting to place it in the notification tray and you can configure the toggles icons, back ground etc. too.

Quite promising then! Think with that in mind, the HTC may be superior to the galaxy s4? All depends on of the s4 gives priority to Samsung features instead of your own apps in the memory! How about games? Possible to resume big games such as real racing 3 after answering and call, sending a message and googling something on the internet? Or does it reload.

I apologise for the many questions but I really want android to be all round and I think the HTC may offer that.

Not sure if my screen has an issue. But the whites are very yellow and the gamma is off.

Here some comparisons with my N4

Not an "issue" so to speak.

You just got a display unit that has warmer colours than a different display by another manufacturer.

HTC have 3 (iirc) suppliers for the HTC one screen, not sure who. The other one is a bit too cold i.e. whites appear a bit blue.

Also, faux has released his kernel or whatever so if you want you can calibrate the display using that app on the market.

Yeh my first One had a much dimmer screen than my second one. The second ones colours look so much better and it goes much brighter.

Also, does anyone use the speakers on their HO so much more than they ever did on previous phones? I rarely used the speakers on my last two phones, but now that I have good speakers, I always listen to music whilst just sitting in bed on the internet on my phone.

I think the speakers are a feature that many people with other phones will dismiss and say "Don't care about them, never listen to music or watch videos on my phone anyway" but it is because it sounds crap on other phones. When you actually have good speakers you use them a lot more.

Colour control isn't available for the custom kernels yet.

Oh, I could have sworn that I read on the XDA mega thread that you could

Nope, if you use loudspeakers, you must be some 14 year old/chav who sits on a bus/train blasting your music away to annoy other people, no possible other reason as to why people would use the loudspeaker on their phone

Yeah works fine, just tried it and beats symbol stays on and game resumes fast. Have to task kill it to stop it. No idea if resources are used when the beats symbol stays on like that.
