***The Official HTC One Thread***

Mine was one of the cheap silicon ones from the 'rainforest'. Does the job well.

Still no contact from HTC. Not impressed.

I found htc customer care not the greatest but they get the job done, just not to hot on keeping the customer in the loop.

Hit them up with an email (or ticket) to give them a nudge and you'll have you phone back in a couple of days

Thankfully I don't need to use them now. But they're shocking as far as I'm concerned. Good job I really like this phone.

HTC One camera issues to be fixed in upcoming update

The HTC One was among the phones receiving the highest score here on Pocketnow with the occasion of our reviews, alongside the Samsung Galaxy S 4. The Taiwanese company did a great job in pushing out updates (for improving the camera, for bumping Android’s version numbers to 4.2.2), but a 4.3 update is on its way. Blue and Red variants we’ve met in Berlin already had it installed.

The Ultrapixel camera on the One should, on paper, deliver great low-light performance, but, it is often not the case, especially on some units which are displaying a purple haze issue under certain conditions. HTC is aware of that and is committed to fixing the issue via a software refresh. Whether this will be a separate update or part of the Android 4.3-bump around the corner is yet unknown.

I concur, I have one and it's a great case, the peeling issue has definitely been resolved now.

I would stilla void the white one though as although it looks great the white discolours quite quickly

+1 I've had one for a couple of months now (the newer version) with the Black Trim...absolutely fine with no peeling. Adds practically no bulk to the handset and looks the part for sure. The frosted back still allows you to see the HTC logo, beats audio etc, definitely doesn't spoil the look at all.

A few pics I took with the HTC One last night.

Some Caterpillar I found eating one of my Passion flowers, moved it...

Good news!

HTC phoned me yesterday, made sure that they had my details stored with the device details so if I phone again, they can make the whole process faster...

Disappointed by it taking a week, but the person I spoke to rather good. :)

Just got my HTC one today.

Is this within tolerance?
The top part is not flat against the plastic and can be pushed down to make it so:(

I'm a perfectionist so this is a bit annoying. But whos to say a replacement would be better?

Got it under contract with Three.

Yeah sadly its normal. Don't let it ruin your experience of the phone though. Get the double dip slip on case which is excellent and you wont see it anyway. I wish I bought this case months ago much better than the double dip flip thing.

I can slide paper in the gap.

I don't like phone cases.

I was gonna take it to a three store tomo but don't know if they can help with an online purchase.

Saw a chap use white silicone to good effect for gaps.

Very odd. Might be newer batches as I had a release day one and it seemed perfect.

As for three store, they won't as their store inventory and their online inventory are different.

I'm with kona on this, I am a perfectionist, I've found reasons to repair/replace stuff for scratches etc but I would be fine with that and to be honest if I were in a shop I'd refuse an exchange.

I couldn't argue that wasn't within normal tolerances.

OK thanks guys just gonna use the damn thing its been a while coming!

If at the end of the day it falls apart then its an HTC centre issue anyway

I had a replacement HTC One after my first one had the sudden death problem, was a recent build in the last few months and looked exactly like the one in your pic. :/

This phone is sick, loving it.

Must commend google and moving phones, its like you never leave your old one in some ways.

The IR remote works scarily well.

Nice upgrade from my google nexus.

On three it zooms on 3g, I even made a new thread as the difference from vodafail is night and day.

Well,I've given the phone some more time for me to like it and....i still don't lol.

Had a friend want to swap his iphone 5 with me at work but he has ruined the back and looks like its been dragged through a bush where as mine is pristine condition.

Cant see me having this phone much longer.

Still on the lookout for a iphone 5 :)

I wouldn't always suggest this sort of thing but I think the iPhone 5 is fairly brittle so I think it's perhaps fair, tell him to go to an apple store and tell them it's switching itself off all the time, they'll give him a new one. Then swap.

Really tempted by this phone but drawn between unlimited data with TMobile and Three any suggestions would be welcomed.
