***The Official HTC One Thread***

Just got my HO back from repair and to my joy I've been sent a replacement, probably a refurb but I don't care its pritstine, mine was battered to hell, with scratches all over the back, a couple of small dents etc, so happy now I'm no longer looking for a new phone :)

My HTC One is still on the original android version and Sense 5.

Is there any reason not to upgrade? No crap new features that make you wish you'd never bothered?

Seen a few complaints about lack of smoothness in some menu transitions etc?

I find it much smoother than before, some of the colour schemes are a bit meh, the default ringstones are total garbage but other than that cant see why not, tbh I cant even remember what sense 5 is like......

I don't know about current ringtones as I just got a stock handset replacement today from htc and I immediately updated it, there is a black and white option for themes

I don't seem to have the update available. It only offers 4.3. Do I need to update to that first? I have a non network specific handset.

Yes. The updates go from 4.1.2 -> 4.2.2 -> 4.3 -> 4.4.2, and some small bugfix updates in between some of them.

Just updated, where has my T9 keypad gone arggh

Are you on the latest Sense 6? Go to "Settings" -> "Language & keyboard" -> "HTC Sense Input" -> "Keyboard selection" -> "Keyboard types" and select "Phone".

I hope the update is good, not impressed with the move to Sense 5.5. Infact the only differences I've noticed so far is the pointless change of the battery indicator to being all white - whereas before it was green until it got below 20% and went yellow - and the fact that the T9 keyboard not automatically enters a space if it thinks you've finished the word. Great.

Battery indicator change is quite irritating, why did they do that?

Anyone having issues with the stock messages app being laggy and crashing since the update? Using Google keyboard but it seems to be fine for everything else typing related.
