***The Official HTC One Thread***

The battery life on my HTC One continues to get worse and worse - it never lasts through a full day anymore.

Anyone else had this? Becuase of the sealed design I cannot replace the battery with a new one like I did with my HTC Sensation when it too suffered the same problem.

there's probably an app somewhere eating your juice while it does nothing.. normally gps location or just random "keep me awake for ever" thingy..

Doesn't seem to be.

I wanted to keep it for at least another year - other than the crippling battery life its a brilliant phone.

Nobody seems to care how disposable these products are now - £500 and it lasts barely a year?

So anyway, anyone wanting a new case for their One, this ones a cracker!

Manna Real Leather UltraSlim HTC One M7 Flip Case Protective Cover Wallet (black) | Stand Function https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CINTBQQ/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_qK-4tb1NMT95C

I paid £6 delivered a couple weeks ago, but it's only available as an add on item now, but at the bagin price of £3! Really good case, real leather, fits good, smells good, works as stand and clasps closed.

For £3!!!

I got mine on release and the battery is still going strong!

I'd factory reset your phone, see if that fixes it, if it does then you know it was a rogue app. If it still doesn't work contact HTC and I'd imagine they will fix it for you.

I got mine on release as well and I have seen no difference with battery life. Perhaps yours needs a factory reset?

Same here, got mine on release and find battery life disappointing now. Just installed Battery Doctor and Clean Master which did clear out a lot of junk and improved things a little bit but still not exactly good. Sealed battery was one of the things that put me off when I bought it and current performance hasn't helped that fear at all. I'll have to find time to back it all up and do a full reset to see if that helps.

Has anyone managed buy a decent/official HTC One charger? Ideally want a micro USB lead. I've tried a few, but they either takes hours and hours to charge the phone or they fit really loosely.

I've searched for official chargers on the rain forest site, but got mixed reviews, a fair few were poor.

My original one has gone faulty/broken cable and only works if I wiggle it around.

Cheers.

I immediately replaced my HTC charger with my Samsung charger I got with my Nexus 10, as it charged faster (2a vs 1a). I'm now using a multi USB charger to save plug sockets and it's been working fine so far for about a year.

My brother recently got this which seems to charge multiple devices faster than the one I have: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Family-Size...F8&qid=1408363475&sr=8-2&keywords=usb+charger

Is the higher power output not dangerous for the phone/battery? (I assume you mean 2 amps vs 1 amp?)

That second think looks great but I've only got my phone, and I'd still need a Micro USB lead.

My official HTC changer socket is fine, it's just the Micro USB cable thats broke. I've bought some from supermarkets, etc but they either fit ridiculously loose or take forever to charge. I want a nice firm fitting one, like the official HTC and that will charge inside of a million hours. HTC Don't list them on their website and Amazon seem to have very mixed reviews.

Yup I mean amps.

It's not dangerous, the phone will only pull out what it actually needs, so it's not the full 2 amps. Think last time I checked it was actually pulling out 1.3 amps or something around that.

As for cables I found the HTC ones too short, I'm using a Blackberry 1.5m ones which is quite thick, I noticed the phone charging slower if the cable was too thin after a certain length.

Well my HTC One developed the dreaded pink pattern issue in low light camera pics. I have just been talking to an HTC Support guy via Web chat and they have agreed to replace my phone with a new one. Chuffed.

Just downloading a new update, 6.09.401.5 - 556.12MB

some news website said:
HTC has begun seeding Android 4.4.3 KitKat software update for the original HTC One M7.

The OTA update weighing in at 556.12MB bumps the build number of the One M7 to 6.09.401.5. The update contains important enhancements and bug fixes.

The most significant feature of this update is Android 4.4.3, which is as confirmed by Mo Versi, vice president and product management at HTC, contains the security fixes from Android 4.4.4.

The 6.09.401.5 build adds OpenSSL security and updates for several features, including Camera, Gallery and HTC Sync Manager.

System improvements

Android 4.4.3

OpenSSL security improvement

Application updates

Camera

Gallery (Image Match)

HTC Sync Manager

The update is currently seeding in various parts of Europe, reports XDA. To grab the OTA update, manually navigate to Settings>> About phone>> Software update>> Check now. The roll-out will continue and take some time to reach other regions.

Got the update as well, CID HTC__001. Not noticed any major differences so far.

EDIT: Two new "bloat" apps, File Manager and HTC News. Gee, thanks HTC... Both can be disabled though. HTC News can be uninstalled but don't want to risk it, I accidently uninstalled Calculator once and that stopped me from getting OTAs...

I had this issue. I factory reset the phone and manually restored my backed up contacts. I then went to the Play store and manually installed the apps I use.

This fixed the problem for me. The phone was a lot more responsive and much faster after this too.

Is anyone having issues with the mobile YouTube site since the update? Its not playing videos anymore, seems to just be YouTube, can play videos from other sources OK.
