*** The official HTC One X thread ***

supposedly same time as iphone 5 then :P

might wait for the note 2 then as that could be the phone the galaxy 3 should have been spec wise ....we will just have to see

i do like the one x tho...great design and in white :)

p.s in not a fanboy i choose a phone i like it doesnt matter what the brand is...

What's wrong with the Galaxy S 3 spec wise?

was expecting more from it and a lot better design....its not too much different if any to the one x

one x would be the one id buy out of the 2

i even find the note to be better looking by miles than the sg3..my opinion tho...everyones different

robbo...so if i said tommorow im buying a phone...my choices are the one x and the note which would you say is the best choice....ignoring screen size and storage (both have enough for my usage)

Id say the One X, the note is nice and had a play with one in the Samsung shop earlier today but too big for me.

The One X purely because I find the Note too big, as great as it is.

I also really like the design of the One X (white :p) too, it's one of the reasons I got mine.

If I wasn't too bothered about the size, I'd possibly lean towards the Note if I wanted the extra storage.

one thing i did notice watching you-tube vids on recording quality is if anyone would comment is the juddering in 1080p video playback is that a software or hardware issue?

im not 100% sure but i think somewhere i read it was a problem with the recording software in ice cream and wasnt hardware issue...also wasnt noticed in another app used for recording although it may have been fixed thaks to the updates it been getting.

..just looking to see if the juddering has beem resolved?

The juddering is likely to do with the bit rate being really low. The hardware itself should be okay.

As it stands though, I wouldn't recommend the One X if video recording is very important, but aside from the occasional juddering the quality etc is fairly good. On the phone itself it looks fine.

just read that the ics on the note has been withdrawn for now :D

due to it being very sluggish, apps not working when clicked showing as incompatible, battery draining way too fast and apps crashing a lot so distribution has stopped for it as of now

plus they apparently have used the exact same ICS as on the sg2 feels nothing like sg3 or vanilla ICS apparently its more like gingerbread.

oh well ONE-X it is then :p

robbo what launcher do you use on yours? is apex any good was looking at it on utube?

Wow, is that world wide or just UK, if it is WW will they OTA a revert to folks who got ICS.

well must be worldwide for now as the initial rollout was from germany and its germany that been withdrawn from distribution....that news was from last week

heres another source showing you ics on note not fully working on utube vid review in germany..... OX FTW :D

May I ask what this is based on? I think I would disagree you see :)

As Samsung software is optimised better - plus both are A9's clocked at similar speed. Gpu's are very similar too. Once the Note has ICS the benchmarks should back me up.

And the reasons you disagree?

takes ten mins to flash ICS from XDA if you really want it - people on this forum have flashed it and it's fine - none of the probs you mentioned there.

Yes it's skinned with TW but change the launcher to Apex and pretty much all is resolved - no different to Sense on the HOX.

My S2 TW 4.0 software is pretty much identical to vanilla ICS with Apex and ICS Domination theme.

You could be right in that ICS on the Note will give it a better shot, but from a 90 linpack to a 160 might be a little wishful thinking.

I just don't see the Note being Dual core, matching the quad core One X though. It just struck me as odd to say the One X is no more powerful when it has twice as many cores?

Maybe there's not a great visible difference at this point, but if in the next year or so, more intense software comes along, it may be visible.

Is that based on UI? I don't think there are many apps that really push the boundaries, maybe as most wouldn't be able to deal with them. Also, generally there probably isn't much that you need to do with your phone that will really push it...

The general performance is fast, but would you really say it feels any quicker than the S2 for example?

The launcher is a bit laggy (juddery) as well, that's the main annoyance for me. It should be perfectly smooth.
