*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I have no idea, sounds like a hardware problem.

It's looking like I'm going to have to get rid, as it'd cost me too much money after selling a HTC One X to upgrade to a SGSIII, looks like I'm going to have to downgrade.

The signal problems, and battery drain are just getting beyond stupid now, no matter what ROM or base is used the problem still persists, absolute garbage.

So why don't you root it & put any rom you want on - Or just buy sim free

It has S-On which means rooting it and changing the rom does not upgrade the radio firmware, unless it was an official rom through Three

Sim free means selling it and buying another.....

You may be right. It seems the slow down is being caused by the processor occasionally spiking to 1500MHz.

I wonder if I could claim it under the warranty...

To be honest, I've got a yearning to try the Galaxy Note for some reason...

The radio file is not HBoot related on the One X IIRC, its a seperate file for the Tegra devices.

Going to send my One X for repair because the screen flicker and wifi is just starting to get ridiculous. Am I right in thinking I can only send the phone to HTC, and does anyone have any experience of how fast HTC's turnaround is?

Cheers

Hopefully better than they used to be. I remember having to send my Desire HD back to them a year-or-so ago and it took them 5 weeks in total :(

I sent my Desire back to them & I think it was about 2 weeks. I recently phoned Orange about my HOX with it's loose screen, they brought a new one as they picked up the old one.

Just seen that on all the news sites, no mention of the one S at all...................

Despite people getting this update for like the last month or 2 now if they unlocked their bootloader etc. better not be like a month gap in order for the S to receive this update otherwise I am rooting!

Well technically the S did get it first............. :p there were quite a few people who didn't unlock their bootloader etc. (well so they say.....) and still got the update, although it didn't update the version of sense to 4.1 but it had all the new improvements of it, such as the change in transition and the 3 dot menu button tweak.

Does unlocking the bootloader change when you get the update?

Sorry no idea how this whole rooting, unlock BL etc. works with HTC phones :p :o

AFAIK, you unlock the BL and it remains unlocked until you relock or something like that :p

EDIT:

This is for the S now, but may be similar to the X process:
