*** The official HTC One X thread ***

XL = Mmmmmmmm; great battery life, S4 chip goodness whilst retaining the awesome 720P screen *drool* :D

Still haven't?!?! Your phone unbranded/unlocked? There is some method about changing your CID number or unlocking the bootloader to get the update or something along those lines anyway :p The one S is getting this 4.0.4/sense V4.1 update in Europe now as well but not the UK, seriously hope it isn't going to take a few weeks to get here

How much would it cost to go from a HTC One X to XL if you considering selling or trading in?

At the moment on my phone I'm getting 3-4 hours of using phone with about 15 hours total battery untill it's dead.

I was on it solid for 2 hours last night, downloading updates, browsing Pulse (news feed app), watching videos on youtube for a good 30 mins, tinkering with settings.

Is that good battery life?

**edit**

HTC One XL slower?

Not sure, I don't think there would be a huge difference in price between the 2.

And from what you have said there about usage and battery life, I would say that is pretty good! Although need to know screen brightness and wifi connection time or/and mobile data connection and what your signal is like?

Nope, the XL is actually faster than the X. Might be dual core chip, but it is next gen chip; more performance per core (more important than an extra 2 cores as hardly any apps still fully/properly utilise dual let alone quad) amongst the more techy. features of it and as a result, everything on the mobile feels more snappy/instant and certain tasks are performed quicker, battery efficiency, heat given out, are all better on the S4 chip and better than the exynos quad in the GS 3.

I thought GPU performance was better on the X and much better on the GS 3 mali GPU but Sarge says different, his favourite benchmark :p

Plus the S4 chip appears to be better optimized overall for sense/XL/S.

Anyway, here is anandtech's review of the XL:

You can see the battery and performance benchmarks, although I always take the battery benchmarks on expert review sites with a big pinch of salt :p As for real world usage they don't quite pan out to be what they say. IIRC, quite a few people are able to get up to 6 hours on screen time on the XL (auto brightness) with general usage i.e. browsing, videos, games.

Just downloading the update now, hope this fixes the problem with the phone not locking back on the mobile network when it temporaraly looses it.

Yep, me too.....anyone know if the Radio has changed in this update ?
EA Games thingy gives Dead Space, which I used to have on my Xperia Play, so pleased about that.....not sure about the Rescue Me thing ?...but agree that Sense seems nicely smoother and the re-map of the Recent Apps button to Menu is v. nice.

Well I don't know if it was a one off or just coincidence following the update but my phone was locked on to the mobile network when I got home from the pub last night, it's normally showing no network, fingers crossed it carries on like this :)
