*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I think that the white version looks better ... when new .... but I've gone for the dark version as the white one will just get too grubby over time.

hmmm ... Yodel tracking says mine is out for delivery, being Yodel though that means I'll get it a week on Thursday ...

Pretty miffed at the moment. Pre Ordered from BuyMobilePhones.Net who promised delivery for tomorrow. Recieved an Email last night saying it would be 10-15 working days before I get the phone. Still states April 5th on the website.

Not impressed to say the least.

The deal was

O2 £36 On & On

Unlimited cross-network mins + Unlimited Texts + 1GB Mobile Internet Browsing + UK Wi-Fi via O2 & BT Openzone + Priority Moments • 24 months

£75 automatic cash back.

Any better deals? I'm going to cancel if I can find one on O2.

Where's the best deal now then?

I'm tempted by the 12 month Vodafone:

600 Mins
Unlimited Texts
1GB Data
2GB BT Openzone
Beats headphones

£41/month
£139 up front

Have you contacted them? I thought they were meant to be one of the better online stores.

Smoothness is down to gpu acceleration which all Ics based phones will have.

Ahh, that sounds much better! The big thing I've always noticed about Android phones is the slight judder in their UI.

You'll get your wish at the end of the year, in both Android and WP8 flavours. :)

Oh and err plasma electrolytic oxide treated aluminium is better than glorified polystyrene. The best in satellite technology vs a rather annoying packing material? Tough choice ;):D

9 months...? Too long... And how do you know anyway? :p

Personally I like unibody phones, whether they are decent plastic or metal (which is why I think the GS2 isn't very nice and the 800 is stunning). Unfortunately the One S isn't unibody, it's metal with some off colour plastic lugs at either end IMO.:D

Lucky man..

Is there rooting already?

One thing that concerns me with the One X and rooting is the lack of access to the RAM. What happens he you need to access the memory due to a bad ROM. You just can't slip the card out and do what ever with a card reader.

I'm concerned about the lack of access to the battery. A few times I've had a dodgy ROM or something on my HTC and I've had to pull the battery. If it happens on the One X, it's screwed

Usually if you press and hold the power button for a while it has the same effect, especially on phones with a non-removable battery. I imagine it will be something they've ensured will work.
