*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Where are you seeing the option to remove the data bolt on?

As soon as you place the order, ring them or live chat with them and have it removed. Quite a few people including myself have done this with no issues.

Worst case you end up paying £13.50 the first month, but for the other 23 months you pay the £10.50, because you can remove it whenever you want, and then cancel the contract whenever you want. This deal saves you £100 in total from the payg price so is a bargain, plus allows you to spread the cost if you want. :)

Ah ok, exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Only problem though is Im assuming o2 phones are locked? As im currently with 3 on a sim only plan...although could potentially switch to o2 sim only if needed and I find a similar deal ( currently paying £15/m sim only for 750 mins 3000 txt 2gb data)

Im leaning towards the S though, I wonder if it will be even cheaper. If not might just get the X this way...thanks :)

I take my last comment back.

T-mobile called me and offered me the HTC One X on my current plan of £25 a month, unlimited data, renewal of 18 months contract. Handset cost? FREE
600min + 500 texts

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Do I win the thread?

You will have a FUP of 500MB for data irrespective of them saying "unlimited"

If they can match my current tariff with that I'm there. I'm after the 3Gb data, 300mins, 300 texts but also want the landline booster.

T-Mobile don't do 3GB data FUP anymore. They have various options right up to 5GB but you pay for the privilege.

Hmmmm .... just received an email ...

Thank you for ordering from The Carphone Warehouse.

We've processed your order and we'll be dispatching it from our warehouse very soon. You can track the progress of the delivery using the link below:

Yodel Job Number ..... etc ......

... now I've only got one thing that is on order at Carphone Warehouse ...

Make sure you do. I had 3GB and, when I got renewed, they moved me onto 500MB. Was I happy? Nope but as I didnt use much data at the time I didnt notice. I was told that everything would be the same for the renewal as I currently had at the time. When I raised this, they stated they were unable to change it back.

I would leave but as I get 1/2 price line rental for life, it still works out cheaper than other plans.

I will possibly write an email to them at some point about it.

I'm not really interested in this phone but for those who want it sim free, here is one option which I assume is cheaper then buying it on payg:

Go to o2 site through quidco for £50 cashback.
Find HTC One X, 24 months, 100mb data, £13.50 /month and buy for £180.
Cancel data bolt-on brings it down to £10.50 per month.

Total Cost = £180 - £50 + (24 x £10.50) = £382

Obviously throw away the sim and use your own. :)

Think I'm going with this and then putting a giffgaff sim in

Cheers Adz :D

So how the hell do I use quidco lol

I've signed up to Quidco, I search for o2, I click Visit site & get cashback.

But when I actually go through it all on the o2 site I can't see the £50 discount anywhere... what am I missing

Cheers guys

The £50 cashback will appear in your account in around 2 months time, so to take out the deal you need to pay the full £180 for now. Make sure when you go to the o2 site from quidco, that it says 'Your visit has been recorded. The cashback from any purchase(s) will soon show in your account.'

I think it took around 8-9 weeks for me to get my cashback when I ordered the Note.

Sweet!

Cheers for the help guys :)

The best part is that by the time it comes through you've usually forgotten about it and absorbed the cost of whatever it was you were getting the cashback on.

So in a few months you are going to have coped just fine without that £50 and then up it pops and it feels like a gift lol.
