*** The official HTC One X thread ***

Because I want it NOW! To be fair I don't, not even in the country so can't play with it :p

Still torn between the One S and the One X. The One X has the awesome looking screen and the One S has the full metal body and the better battery life.

O decisions!

One X + ICS isn't a very left handed friendly phone. A lot of apps have the menu button top right and trying to reach across with your thumb on your left hand is a bit of a stretch!

I'm not left handed but without sounding dodgy my right hand was frying an egg.

Phoning T-Mobile just now, will see what they say :D

Zilch! Phone back in about 7 days as they have no info on it :(

Ridiculous isn't it. Several sites yesterday said it'll be available from T-Mobile and Orange from Thursday so lets hope.

Well mine's turned up from Carphone Warehouse ... looks very nice :)

(Nokia E71 work phone for scale)

is that on Orange too?

Yeah think I will give them another ring tomorrow, see what they offer on both the One S and the X. Will decide on the spot what to get :p

I'm not really interested in this phone but for those who want it sim free, here is one option which I assume is cheaper then buying it on payg:

Go to o2 site through quidco for £50 cashback.
Find HTC One X, 24 months, 100mb data, £13.50 /month and buy for £180.
Cancel data bolt-on brings it down to £10.50 per month.

Total Cost = £180 - £50 + (24 x £10.50) = £382

Obviously throw away the sim and use your own. :)

You can get the 50 pounds discount in store or over the phone if you have an NUS student card by the way :)
now would it be cool if you could use quidco + nus.....

Are you allowed to drop the data within x months of your contract?

You can drop the data at any time, even right away. The option is not available online via the o2 website, you need to actually speak to an o2 adviser (via live webchat or you can ring them) but they can definitely remove it for you bringing the monthly cost down to £10.50.

Just to be an absolute, utter pain-
Any chance of someone taking a screenie of the 4x4 music widget please?

I'm considering upgrading to a One S (From a Galaxy S), and one of the things that set the previous incarnation of Sense apart was that the 4x4 music widget is miles ahead of the competition- I came from a HTC Hero, and in nearly 15 months, I've not found a music widget that comes close to the HTC one.

For what it's worth, I want-
* Non-square coverart correctly padded, not stretched.
* Track N of N
* Progress display
* Rating stars
No-one else has one with all these features :(
Player Pro comes closest, but no progress display or track numbers.

Dispatched from O2, will arrive tomorrow. Should be unlocked when it arrives, otherwise it will be unlocked for free within 7 days, I went for the £10.50/month O2 deal as described above... I'm excited :D

Not done it before but when you request a PAC nowadays do you get it there and then and does it take a few days to port?

Thanks
