*** The official HTC One X thread ***

I am pretty impressed with the battery compared to my HD2 already.

1 Day 7 Hours with 2hours 45 minutes screen on time, 25 minutes on the phone, 30 minutes browsing, emails being checked every 30 minutes and texts through out the day :) and even then I still had 7% left :D

What's with Orange rolling out 4G at the end of the year? I know O2 are testing 4G in select parts of London but never heard anything about any of the other carriers...

The XL doesn't need to be released here anyway, when it's released in the US people can run the benchmarks and see what the difference is anyway. Then you s4/Trega 3 fanboys can find out who is best!;)

Orange doesn't even have adequate 3g coverage everyhwere

If orange say they are rolling out anything or stocking anything you can bet your life it will be atleast 6 to 12 months behind every other carrier :D

just a heads up

if you go on the HTC watch app they have quite a lot of films for rent for 5p! some decent ones tbh, i wish i had my Medialink to get it on the TV

Couldn't agree more, then by the time it hits the shops there is something newer available :(

I remember when I left Orange about 6 years ago the woman asked why I wanted to leave, I'd already made my mind up to leave before ringing however the fact it took me 45 minutes to get to speak to someone definately sealed it.
From my understanding they have got even worse since then.

Well I had a very prolonged use of the device today in a 3 store who had a HTC representative in (read, girl who works for a field sales agency and in reality knew little about the phone).

Pretty much decided against buying one as it really wasn't as smooth as stock Android on the Galaxy Nexus. It's a shame as it would have answered a few of the niggles that I have with the Nexus, i.e more storage, better camera and gaming performance.

Can't your run stock ICS on the One X?

Well I was thinking about that and as someone who roots their phones, I wouldn't have an issue with such a thing.

There's even a rumour that one of the USA models will ship with stock Android but I very much doubt this.

Unfortunately, what puts me off about buying one and installing a custom ROM is the lack of guarantee that a custom ROM will be fully functional, especially with HTC who are notoriously bad at releasing their kernel source code.

It's probably even more risky with the One X with the ImageSense chip as that's going to be proprietary. If there's little to no documentation regarding the chip, you could find custom ROMs built from AOSP will not take advantage of the benefits of the that chip. It's similar to how CyanogenMOD ROMs struggled with Bluetooth on the Galaxy SII as Broadcom do not release documentation on controlling their chip.

Maybe I'll keep an eye on the developer section on XDA and if a mature and fully function AOSP ROM is released, I'll buy the phone in a heart beat. The screen really is superb and I do like the construction of the device.

Dammit just got off the phone with T-Mobile, wanted to do an upgrade to the One X but they only got the white one in stock. I would have had a 7 day cooling off period in case I didn't like it. Oh well I might just wait and see what Samsung announce in May.

White is the best 1.

This is coming from someone who normally prefers black phones, white is much nicer looking than grey.
