**** The Official Huawei Mate 20/Mate 20 Pro Thread ****

That sucks man, you're having worse luck than me with phones this year, didn't think it was possible!

Checked the app and I have a LG screen.

Apparently there is another update out, .126

Tell me about it.

Anyone found a 3rd party launcher that works with gestures smoothly, mainly the home gesture?

Finger print issues also reported on xda aswell. .122 firmware fixes the security issue.

Ah OK.

Do you have the .122 update from EE?

That's another thing bothering me, having to wait for carrier updates. I've been on an OP5 and direct updates.

Also how is everyone's RAM management? I feel that apps are reloading too often for 6GB RAM.

EE not released any updates yet :(, you can trick the phone if you put in a Voda sim and it downloads latest update, but the EE Mate 20 Pro is locked!

Just called CPW, my Twilight is apparently being picked but still not due until the 9th? Do i cancel or not, I still want the phone... It's this or buy a OnePlus 6t outright.

I'm temporarily on an ancient Nexus 4 I had in the drawer after trashing my Galaxy S8. Used to love the Nexus but it's awfull sloooww now

If camera and stereo speakers are not super important then I'd choose the OP6T. The software will be stable and all round far superior So will the updates.

I'd buy from John Lewis too for 2 Yr warranty.

I'm still awaiting anything from CPW, I'm amazed how they are still in business with their customer services. Still refusing a refund despite the fact they can't provide a delivery date (originally 26th) and cannot provide me with an expected delivery date... got a message through twitter by someone saying maybe nextweek....What sort of service is that, apparently I'm not alone.

Still going through the process with my credit card company to get the money back, I'm in the same boat as you and don't know if I want the phone now given some of the issues that are starting to crop up. May just hang onto my Pixel 2XL and see what deals come about on Black Friday.

Thanks both, they couldn't cancel it today, I need to call back tomorrow if I go through with it.

I work 5 mins walk from John Lewis and that's exactly what I was thinking as a strategy. I feel I might lose a little in screen and camera quality from the S8, which is what led me to the Mate 20 Pro.

Be wary of that little trick with regards to cancellations, they've been stalling and doing everything possible to get out of refunding me. Only difference is I was silly enough to purchase instore, never again. Good news is they forgot to attach their T&C's which form the basis of the contract and reference the "attached" T&C's on the receipt.

Night mode vs Night sight

Both are stunning but huawei has the edge for me. Considering the sensor on the Huawei is way bigger, the DR and noise control is better. That yellowing too.

This is making me want to keep the Mate. The camera is too good, plus the ultra wide and tele are the icing.

What do you think of the case? I had a bad experience with a Samsung Flip Case on an old Galaxy S6 which left it with little pock marks after a just a day or two. I was looking at the Spigen Rugged Armour but something to keep the glass protected in my pocket seems sensible.

To be honest - didnt think it through... there was probably a reason Ive never used a flip case.... take out of pocket one handed have to flip open...... put in car holder... no no.... lol... gotta get something else.
Also my work security settings stop any notifications showing from lockscreen so I guess that stops the notifications in the case too.

Nice case though - very smart looking ... also doesnt sit up when open and viewing a video.
Definately not worth £20+++

Mine is the LG screen.. beautiful screen.... fingerprint works well.... facial unlock is fast even with my mug... have it in the Official flip case ... open up and unlocked by the time you even think about putting finger on screen....battery life is superb - had a couple of days snapping away and watching youtube with BT on connected to smart watch... best battery life I have ever had.... can even not charge up over night and give a quick zap in the morning for 30 minutes and bingo full battery again.

Got from EE direct.

I just know if I got the pixel 3 I would be forever charging it.... Happy with the Mate 20

The bluetooth bug is annoying me big time though, everytime I connect to another bluetooth device bluetooth disconnects all other connected devices and then fails to connect to the new device. Perfect example of this is in the car, I have the phone paired to my smartwatch but as soon as I get into the car the watch disconnects and bluetooth momentarily turns off and then back on the phone, but then fails to connect to the cars bluetooth.
Havent got this bug - connected to a BT speaker and watch in the house to test ... went out to car (Volvo) connects straight away and still stays connected to watch.

Good luck with that as they process the claim 14 days after you submit it and the IMEI will be marked as back with the vendor. No freebies for you.

Not sure what you mean... I will still be paying my contract in full and keeping the handset... the promotion offer will go through fine.
