A poll of polls from the 30th January? Good work.

Blame the Beeb, that's all they had on their election website 10 minutes ago! :p

It's now been replaced with this:

Pretty amazing how Labour have any sort of lead over the Tories and just shows how out of whack this forum user base is to the wider public.

If all Labour can manage after 5 years of austerity and coalition government is a meagre lead of 1 or 2 percent at best, then that is a disaster for Labour.

Also, who ever said that this is a cross section of the general public? It's a computer enthusiast forum, meaning it will tend towards men, with disposable income and above average intelligence.

They would, but both parties have explicitly ruled out working with each other and the SNP have said they would never vote for a Tory queen's speech.

What did they say exactly? Because I think those two parties are the least trustworthy e.g. a lot of people think David Cameron is protecting child tax credits because he said so in the debate, what he actually said was that he "didn't want to" cut them. Very different statement.

It's going to be close!

...

It seems to me that the Tories are the only party offering hope for our great nation. If they retain government they should continue with the austerity campaign.

Oh you cheeky little Aussie - this is like when you all voted for Tim Henman to be SPOTY isn't it?

As someone who has followed the election very closely and is very well versed on political speech, trust me on this. The SNP will not be dealing with the Tories! :p

Plus social anxiety and ASD disorders. Which I suspect has an effect on social empathy, and therefore political priorities.

I never voted Tim Henman to be anything. :)

And may I remind you I'm British, with voting rights for general elections?

Voted Con. Won't matter though. The S-o-T majority are content with being entered into yet more and more "top 10 worst" lists thanks to Labour. :(

Well voting tory isn't correlated with intelligence, but is with income so you're half right. This forum is also:

a) more male than average (and men vote tory more than women)
b) more white than average (bme's vote labour more)
c) started with a conservative crowd so is naturally more welcoming to a conservative crowd (i.e. the conservative bias is self-sustaining)

Actually it's a very good performance for Labour.

If it wasn't for the SNP making huge gains Labour would have it in the bag, to make any gains while losing pretty much the entire of Scotland is quite an achievement.

And only 5 years after the blame (rightly or wrongly) for the biggest economic crash in living memory

You do read these forums don't you? Not sure where you get the 'above average intelligence' from :p
