Ouch at the LD curb stomping - can't agree with them completely selling out/entirely deserving it though.

As someone said either it looks very much like people have thought, "FU Lib Dems, let's take my vote to the Cons after you didn't hold a backbone". Strange mentality, imo.

That's not surprising is it? Aren't LD and their supporters sitting right in between the narrow gap between Conservatives and Labour?

So actually people are leaving the Lib Dems because they weren't Tory enough?

The accusation during the campaign was that the Lib Dems would be punished for dropping manifesto commitments they were forced to drop by the Tory's during coalition negotiations.

The people that care about the more progressive measures and a less austere government budget would vote Labour. Other LD supporters are probably just disenchanted with LD or even voting tactically to avoid a Labour government (potentially propped up by SNP).

how is an exit poll of only 22k peeps even relevant? umm it is'nt, rubbish exit poll imo.

It's not only that which makes it something to be taken carefully.

A lot of those 22,000 votes will be in seats which I could have predicted anyway.

So there are even fewer covering the marginal seats. An exit poll being correct in one seat doesn't automatically mean another exit poll elsewhere will be correct.

It's how probabilities and variances work.

If you toss a coin, me being correct on any single toss is 50%.

However, over 100 tosses I can be more certain in predicting say 45-55 heads.
