*** The Official iPad (Early 2012) Thread ***

I have some songs on my iPad. I have deleted the originals fom my pc.

Is there any way to edit the names or add artwork now?

I have connected it to the pc opened iTunes and then I go to the iPad section to see the songs. Even if I click the name of a song and edit it it does not change on the iPad.

Also how can I add artwork automatically now.

No, you have to do it in the iTunes music section, your iPad will just show what is on the iPad, you have to edit the actual song, not the copy on the iPad. Then resync and the updated mp3 will sync to the iPad

iTunes should automatically find album art if that setting is enabled

Ok thanks for your help.

I don't have the songs on my pc anymore and i dont use the auto sync option so if I re sync will the songs be copied from iPad to pc

You guys with the 4g devices must be praying that the UK spec the same bands as the US, I heard a wee rumour that in Europe they won't be using The 700mhz and 2100mhz spectrums that the iPad supports...

Who cares?

They support HSDPA and we're getting good speeds... by the time 4G rolls out over here, the ipad 4 will be out and will likely support any differing frequencies.

Indeed. There's no chance we'll use the same frequencies and we'll be one or two iPad models further on by then anyway.

I don't blame Apple at all for limiting the hardware the frequencies used by AT&T and Verizon in the US, what I do blame them for is advertising it as "4G" in the rest of the world when they know full well it'll never work.

I really don't know why they've done this, as it's just going to lead to confusion down the road and customer complaints so why bother? Perhaps because the bullet-point list of improvements over the iPad2 wasn't that long so they needed the 4G to make up the numbers, even in places where it wouldn't work? I read the other week that some network operators are unhappy about this too as they'll end up getting flak from customers expecting to magically get 4G speeds with their new iPad.

/So confused by all of this

So the iPad has LTE, but this is actually slower or quicker than 4G?

And oh dear.

So.....mulling over whether to get a new iPad (we were saving for a new iMac but it would appear that in the Clanger household there is now a wish for an iMac AND an iPad)

Now - in order to keep costs down I would opt for a 16Gb model WiFi only - reason being it's probably going to be used around the house 90% of the time and so (I assume) that I can stream content from my PC using something like Airvideo. And as long as we have some space for a couple of films and games for smallest clanger when we're away then all should be well....I think.

So having gone around the houses - my question is - is there any reason why (given how we will be using the iPad) to look at 32Gb - am I missing something vital? Oh - and am I correct that I can stream content from my PC to the iPad - I read it on the internet - but you know what that place is like

Cheers

The assets of all apps have expanded to around three times their regular sizes with retina graphics included so even with modest usage I'd be careful of 16GB. But you might be able to get away with it for your needs. :)

AirVideo will absolutely let you stream video from a computer over your network to the iPad.
