*** The Official iPad (Early 2012) Thread ***

Need to stop reading this thread, I keep holding my breath every time I refresh outlook hoping that delay e-mail doesn't drop in.

Still on for the 16th here but I'm in the midlands and got my order in about 3 minutes after it came back up at midnight so fingers crossed im safe :o If I'm not then nobody is anyway. Seems to be more based on location than order time sadly.

Ordered On Mar 7, 2012

Processing Items Delivers on March 16

iPad with Wi-Fi 32GB - Black (3rd generation)

i was first :D

I knew mine smelt a bit - I've been through a mild heart attack with Apple.

Rang them up to chase why my confirmation order hadn't come through and was told it was on hold and unable to find why and the team they needed to speak to was busy, will be back within 24hrs. Then checked my account 2hrs later to find my order cancelled :o :o, cue my heart going like the clappers and right back on the phone to Apple and again couldn't get through to Order Management.

Then had email about an hour later saying it had been cancelled due to me trying to order too many (I numerous "Opppps" whilst order but only one went though to completion at 00:23 so I got the final screen and print out - Order History showed I'd ordered three times so I cancelled the first two as they didn't go through on screen.

So right back on the phone again to give them grief about their website and again no luck with Order Management (must be a deadend) but explained all that again for the umpteenth time and told someone will ring back with four hours; half an hour later the order was reactivated and I had my confirmation and delivery is still 16th - better bloody be Apple after the grief and near-heart failure you've given me!!!

Cancelled my 32gb 3G for now. I hate not having decent cases/skins available from day 1 and I'm anal over keeping mine pristine.

Why they can't just give dummy cases to manufacturers to get cases ready is annoying. I don't mind wait as we already have a pad. If I got it I'd leave it in the box until I could protect it and that would be a waste of warranty :D

I also had 2nd thoughts about wanting 3G version.

I am sure they did. Hence the pictures of leaked components.

I was reading today that they don't do that and some of the main case manufacturers gambled on sizes and don't know in advance...

Obviously I don't know how true this is but it seems odd.

Apple doesn't announce its product specs in advance, so manufacturers find out about changes at the same time as everyone else. The best prepared are the ones that gambled and started making a tablet case with enough space inside to house either the iPad 2 or a slightly modified version.

The moment of truth for BodyGuardz came when Apple (AAPL, Fortune 500) CEO Tim Cook unveiled the new iPad's dimensions on Wednesday.
