I bought one today with a smart cover, will be my first iPad. Looking forward to it arriving next week.

For all those who have multiple payments waiting which shouldn't be , it's your bank yes your bank that have to release the funds.

What apple have done is In simple terms is swiped your card but not "polled" their terminal so they know your good for the money , however technically they haven't taken the money.

Banks name for this is shadowing which causing merchants no end of headache.

Banks tend to release these funds if not to be charged anywhere between 3- 10 days

Just thoughtid drop that into this thread

To put the new battery size in perspective... Not far off the 13" MacBook Air now

Just read this article as well! It's pretty interesting, I always thought the Retina Display was a massive new feature, but I never even thought about how much battery it would require. To keep battery life at 10 hours is actually a pretty good achievement for Apple!

I hope the new battery does make a difference as going from the original iPad to iPad 2 was a big drop in battery life for me.

I used to charge my iPad once every 2 days, roughly, but the iPad 2 was nightly. And that was using them both as my alarm clock.

Sounds like you had a dodgy iPad 2. Why didn't you get it replaced?

That doesn't sound right, my can last a whole week if I'm just watching films/surfing. Obviously drains quicker when playing games.

Because as the upgrade didn't include the battery I just assumed it was how it was. I did get it replaced last week because of screen burn. If I had known this wasn't meant to be the way it was I'd have got it sorted a long time ago.

Really not sure about this upgrade. Is it really worth is just for a new high-res screen?

It's awfully tempting but my head say's no.

wish I hadn't of sold my ipad2 with the smart cover, as I just had to order one for my new iPad in the same colour as all the colours are gash except for orange which they don't do anymore :(

I did that when I sold my 2 to a friend. He said I could have it back but I wanted a red one so ordered that.
