Must admit I don’t get all these cases with a lip around the camera cutout. My one bugbear of the naked phone is the wobble because it doesn’t sit flat - why would a case create that wobble as well?

Leather case for the 12 pro just turned up from amazon.. don't usually like cases but this feels nice and makes the phone a similar width to the XR I just got rid of... also has a decent lip around the top to protect the screen if placed face down..
Well, having sworn I wouldn’t get an iPhone this year owing to 60hz, here I am with a 128gb standard 12 model, with a Mini coming for my wife next week.
Every Android this year seems to have a feature I can’t accept. Samsung palmed us off with the terrible Exynos chip, Oneplus phones have bad cameras, the Xperia 5ii is too tall and narrow. I had a Samsung FE for a couple of weeks and that had Snapdragon SoC, good cameras and 120hz, but it was too big and didn’t feel special.
Back to Apple it is and maybe an upgrade to 120hz next year. First impressions of the 12 are really good anyway - the size is a nice compromise and it feels like a noticeable step up from my old XS, which has surprised me a little.

It’s to protect the camera lenses from getting scratched or damaged if it takes a fall.
My xs case has saved my xs from a few falls front and back so I’m glad they have that lip at the back even if it does make it a bit wobbly lol.
And also to cut down bulk. Otherwise the entire back of the case would have to be thicker than the camera protrusion and it would feel like you’re holding a brick.

Well just got a confirmation that my Apple leather case from Amazon has been delivered. Not at home at the moment but my ring doorbell showed me some random guy in a white van pushing something through my letterbox

I ordered a 12 Pro Max yesterday, I am not overly confident about the current delivery estimate of 13th November. I'll be happily surprised if it turns up. It will be replacing my X which has served me well that last 3 years.
Why are you not confident? With Apple pre-orders, if it says the 13th, it will be there the 13th. I was surprised at how long the initial stock lasted yesterday, you could order a Pro Max in Blue and Graphite for 13th delivery until about 1:30pm, usually it's about 10 minutes after pre-orders go live that the initial stock goes.
I managed to check out about 10 seconds after it went live thanks to Apple Pay, which was about 13:01 so it was a very smooth pre-order for me
Its not direct from Apple its from Virgin so that's what has lowered my confidence.

If its a little longer I'm fine with that, the X isn't on its last legs, although now its ordered I want it immediately!
Anyone know of a slimline clear case where the bottom cutouts for the speakers and lightning cable are rounded instead of square edged? I bought a Torras clear case and the left speaker cutout is sharp against my little finger and from what I can tell by studying pictures on Amazon, most of the others are the same.

The camera upgrade, especially night mode is going to be a massive upgrade.blue pro max arriving 13th here confirmedgot the charger, mag ring and the case, should be a nice upgrade from the 7!

My 12 pro Max leather case just arrived from Amazon.
Camera hole is good Chunk bigger than my 11 pro Max and also a few mm wiggle room with my 11 in the case.

I have a totallee case for my mini (haven’t got the phone yet!) but it feels smooth on the bottom. Doesn’t have any sharp edges

My case just arrived too and yeah the 12 Pro Max camera square is significantly larger than previous phones.
Cheers for the link, but thirty notes for a generic plastic cover is more than I’m willing to spend, particularly when there are plenty around at the tenner sort of price. I thought I was pushing the boat out paying seventeen quid for the Torras case.
