It looks like all the color coated titanium models suffer from color shift due to fingerprints/sweat. The blue is the worst affected, as you use it, the blue color where you frequently touch the phone, such as the buttons, it starts changing from dark blue to light blue and looks ugly. Can it can be fixed by deep cleaning or polishing the phone and then it goes back to the original color.

Only the natural titanium is not affected by this

Interesting. I was having quite a tough time of deciding what colour to get so natural might just be the safest bet.

This couldn’t have launched at a worse time hah I just paid for my daughter to go back to university for her second year she dropped out of….

Hate credit. Pay review at the end of the month. Bonus in December…

Never really watched stock levels for iPhones. Would these be ready available between October and November? Then again the Christmas rush is about to happen.. ugh
People will not be rushing out to buy £1000 iPhones for Christmas, they certainly won’t go out of stock either or as most you’ll wait a week for a specific colour/storage combination. There’s a number of places to order from too so no need to stress.

I struggle to see how it’s even possible this would pass the rigorous product development process.

Then again they did bring to market an iPhone that would bend in your pocket so who knows!

Mental health reminder - its a phone, they manufacture 200+ million a year and don't worry you will not miss out.

Totally agree, never sure why it is so important to order any item in a hurry, it is not like it makes you special for buying something the day it is released. As you said you'll share this incredibly common device with another 1/5 of a billion people soon enough.

What I find more appealing is the ability to pay bottom dollar for precisely one year old devices, as people are desperate to get rid of them to fund there next overpriced device.

Some people have cash for expensive hobbies. I get both sides of the coin. If tech makes you happy, go you. It's the same with...well the entire PC building community; some people need the latest and greatest and some people follow the trend a few years behind cause its so much cheaper!

I'm putting my phone in a case so not sure to get this black titanium pro or go natural if this colour shift malarkey is to be beleived!

Surely that depends why you’re in a hurry?

Personally, my phone is out of support (iphone 8) and the battery badly needs replacing but I held off knowing I’d be getting a 15. So I’d like to upgrade asap so I can stop needing to charge my phone several times a day.

I'm very tempted to pick up a 15 (pro obs).
I'm in Leicester next week (lucky me) and there's an Apple store. Will have a look at a Max too as I'm tempted to jump up in size. Bit worried about practicality though (even simple things like size in pocket etc).

If someone from 2013 with their new iPhone 5s reading £999 is a good price for an iPhone in 2023. They would have an heart attack :D
It’s bad thing when you look at this years Pro Max and think ‘ Same price as last year, bargain’ . That’s a exactly what I did
We are just so used to paying so much for things we enjoy.

I have never had one issue with putting my 12 pro max in any pocket lol, be it on shorts or trousers (front or back) or suit jacket etc

Details on this? Got a link?

The thing is, I've had five years of use out of my XS. If I get the same out of a 15 Pro Max, it works out about £20 per month.

Considering how much I use my phone, it's not bad value.

At least, that's how I'm justifying the ridiculous price tag for a phone. :D

To be fair, the 5S launched at £550 which in today's money is actually more like £730 anyway. The X launched at £999 in 2017 and that's actually £1265 in today's money so you could make the argument that it's effectively got cheaper.

But with that said, I am not saying I'm ok with the price of today's phones. Inflation or not, a grand plus does still seem crazy.

I assume this is the same thing: Link

Ahh ok, I thought they might have been talking about this, saw it on Reddit too, was also on the natural titanium phone as well, just less visible. I assume it was just because the phones there were fingered (oooo matron) by hundreds of journos with sweaty hands etc and was something I was concerned about

Here’s a link to a pic of the natural titanium one showing it

But back then when you purchased an iPhone. You got the one and only model, which was the best Apple offered. Now you paying over £1000 for the best model iPhone when the £999 iPhone isn't even the best out of the range. :D
