5G is meant to be better on this including range as well as speed. The range aspect will be great for me as my 14 pro struggles a lot.

So does my 13 pro max, it cannot hold a 5g signal

What are people going to be transferring off/on their phone via USB to need crazy speeds?

I can’t think of any reason I use the lightning cable other than charging. Everything else is wireless.
I'm still old fashioned as I still have all my phone stuff sync'd and backed up with my Mac. Photos, videos, music etc. Its ridiculous that in 2023 it still takes frickin ages to transfer "2 weeks worth of photos" from iPhone to Mac.

5G in London is useless IMO. Maybe it’s Vodaphone but it’s so unreliable around most of central London. Quite often doesn’t work at all.
It’s Vodafone, I don’t know what they’ve done but their network has been utter **** for me in London and East of England. Historically they were pretty good but it seems they have fallen well behind in the 4/5g era. What concerns me the most if I get a lot of drop backs to 3G and those masts are being switched off…

I’m switching back to EE next week, well via Lyca.

They rang me up to counter offer my PAC request. I politely informed them that they could give me the service for free and I’d switch away.

Video recordings from holidays/special events that are shot in 4K Dolby Vision or ProRAW that are quite large in size.

Don't see how having faster transfer speeds is irrelevant, just because we didn't have it up until the 15 Pro doesn't mean there was no need for it ever. It's been long overdue.
I just use AirDrop. It’s properly quick.

I decided to go for the 0% finance as I may as well keep the £999 in my bank.

The order says it's on hold, but had an email from Barclays saying the finance was approved last night. The order status on the Apple website says it's on hold still... how long does this normally take to update?

The longer I wait there is more risk of the shipping date moving to the right. I'm in two minds about just canceling it and paying outright so I don't lose the shipping date.

Do it! The suspense….

Apple really stuffed the cameras on the new 15 Pro and Max.

Everything was driven by higher marketing numbers - most users will get worse image quality than on the 14 Pro & Max phones.

  • 7 lenses  : 4 of these ‘lenses‘ are cropped views, why stop at 7 lenses, you could have a ‘100 hundred‘ lenses using this method ! This is Apple trying to keep up with other phone makers who have more real camera lenses.
  • The 120mm Telephoto lens on the 15 Pro Max is okay, but if you shoot less than this (below 119mm) then you will get a cropped view from the 24mm lens. Producing a small MP photo showing garbage results. All about Apple marketing a ‘5x zoom’ to keep up with competitors.
  • The default MP size has been increased to ’24MP’ (upscaled from a real 12MP) which increases the file size of each photo, meaning eventually you will need to pay more monthly to increase Apple Cloud storage.
  • All the other Apple marketing BS associated with the camera is just deceptive
Apple really going the wrong way on the camera with this phone !

I’d be cautious of believing click-bait reviews on YouTube. I doubt we’ll know how bad the case performs in the real world for a few months.
Not sure if the video is very click-bait. He just did a break down and showed what materials was used and give his opinion on if he would buy it?

He seems to be on the same opinion as most not worth the money.

You won’t lose the shipping date, the on hold should change to preparing to ship soon.

Caudabe are offering to send their updated iPhone 15 case with 'action' button for free if you buy one now without. Shipping will prob be about £7 but the case will be on them. I've ordered one of their sheath cases as they seem popular. None of the leather ones seem all that good, but I might get the bellroy one at some point.

It’s a 48MP sensor it’s never been a real 12MP, they just use to pixel bin 4 sensor pixels to create one, so 48MP images got down sampled to 12MP, they are doing something different this year to get a default 24MP image on the main camera.

The quad 48MP is marketing BS, as each of the 4 sensors only has one colour, so it‘s only 12MP in real terms. [There is no additional detail in 48MP photos vs the 12MP]
The iPhone 14 default image size was 12MP. On the 15 Pro’s Apple has doubled it to 24MP by basically upscaling the image, which anyone can do themselves in an image editor.

It’s a sneaky way to increase each photo file size, which ultimately means people need to pay more for the next tier up iCloud storage.
As Apple have ‘locked’ in users to their system, this is increased revenue for Apple, from their users…….for the rest of their life.

The 15 Pro is using the exact same camera hardware as the 14 Pro. Pretty disappointing for a year's worth of development. (Excluding the 5x which could make portrait photos much worse)

My guess is whatever hardware they wanted to use didn't pan out so they had to scrape together a marketing angle to salvage things.

Thinks it’s pretty clear now why they never give the non pro models 120ghzullion screens. Would have been an easy decision for me just to grab the 15plus with all the videos coming out.

as for grabbing another high end Samsung. No thanks 1200quid phone just to break after warranty runs out!!
