What deal was this? 13 Pro was a stellar phone but sounds like a decent saving and selling the 13 Pro will surely offset more.

From Fonehouse here

Need to change the filter to increase upfront cost, then you can get the 128GB for £745 or the 256GB for £845

Then code BLC30OFF to get another £30 off.

£13 a month Vodafone contract for 24 months.

not used fonehouse before but might give them a test when i next get a phone

Can't fault them so far, ordered last night and it's already shown up! Don't want to peel the sticker off the screen until my screen protector arrives though, lol

Just got to figure out how to port my number to the new contract now. Not sure if Vodafone can do an internal transfer, guessing I might have to change to another network and back breifly

anythig more than 2 gens older and im sure its a great upgrade

using something like backmarket for refurbished usually ensures good quality
Picked up a 16 Pro this weekend. Objectively superior to the 11 Pro in almost every way, but makes me appreciate how good the 11 has been - battery issues aside.

Picked up a matching watch series 10 at the same time. A lazy weekend hasn't been the best showcase for it. Hoping it'll outshine my cheapo fitness watch when I get out and about.

5 year gap is huge and will definitely be noticeable on pretty much every metric!

I got a spigen air case, I like it.

For screen protector I've historically used Jetech, but got Ailun this time. Both have been fine.

I don't bother with a camera protector

Just about to grab a 16 Pro Max off Amazon as on offer. I need screen protector, camera protector and a case.

What’s everyone finding that’s good?

I got the Spigen Hybrid T case, good magsafe, transparent and with the camera control button, Screen Protector is the caseolgy one and it's been solid, no need for a camera protector.

Yes/no

I've got an iPhone 16 pro max, 13 pro max and iPhone X. I was playing around on the X the other day and apart from the small battery the iPhone X is still very fast and capable of doing almost anything the 16 pro max can

In the old days, this 8 year gap would have been enormous, the old phone would be completely unusable but not anymore, phone technology is so slow now that an 8 year old iPhone is not far away from the latest iPhone in real world performance

Phones are now like cars, if I compare a 8 year old BMW M3 and a new one, they are nearly identical in real world performance, same with phones

I thought the X would have felt really slow at this point, at least not as snappy as the latest models

I still have my old X, it does feel slow IMO.

I keep it as a backup phone, just for banking. There's a huge difference.

The 16 Pro CPU benches 3 x faster, and it's absolutely noticeable.

The difference between my old 13 Pro and 16 Pro however, I agree, is pretty small in day to day use.

That makes sense, the 13 was a big leao from the 12 in performance but after that its been pretty small year on year where its not really noticeable.

I suspect its going to to be the same in the near future as well

Not had a desire to upgrade my phone for the past 4 years. Big money saver just being on SIM only!

I'd rather invest the money in either replacing the battery or getting a battery bank. Probably the latter as then it can be used for other things and not just the phone

Said the same to my wife the other day. Objectively comparing my 7 year old Audi A4 to what Audi offer today, only minor differences. Pretty sure they still use the E888 engine in their 2.0 TFSI cars. It’s all about EVs now, which is where I’ll eventually go.

I’m happy with my 15 Pro, I like that it’s smaller and lighter than the 16 Pro and doesn’t have the silly camera button. Should hopefully be able to keep this phone for the long run.
