Jesus restoring over icloud is a pain. No matter how much I tell it to prioritise Whatsapp it keeps stalling and downloading other apps.

On the Apple Watch you sign into your EE account and then buy a plan through that, the iPhone eSIM should be similar, though phone eSIM requires a software update that isn’t out yet.
 
Hmm either way, I'll end up having to go with EE or Vodafone.

Ordered a XS through EE and will switch my work number to that. Then once it's working with the e-sim, move the EE to the e-sim and use my personal Virgin as the actual sim.

God even I'm confusing myself with this.
 
So what's everyones first impressions. I've got the usual iPhone upgrade issue.... "Oh it looks exactly like my last phone" It's not as big as I was expecting, if I am honest

What was your last phone? The phone I'm upgrading from is a 6 plus. It's due to arrive in the next hour, and I can't see myself with that issue due to the size difference, screen improvement, battery improvement and the fact that Twitter won't take 20 seconds to open :D

Anyone changing from a 6 or newer will definitely enjoy the upgrade.

Removing the home button and the gesture based UI is the best thing they have done to the iPhone in a long time, I couldn’t go back.

I upgraded from an iPhone X. Going from a 6+ to this will be an amazing jump. You'll like it for sure!

I just feel with iphones because it takes off exactly from where the last phone left off, you don't really feel like an upgrade. Biggest jump I felt I ever had was the 3G to the 4 with the retina display

Yeah I can see how it'll feel like a much smaller step.

It's arrived, and I'm setting it up. The setup process is VERY slick, what with just putting my old phone near the new one to authenticate, then taking a photo of some sort of blurry thing to confirm it's me.

Yes I've used that set up thing a few times recently (had to replace my iPad Pro) and it is very slick.

It's a tiny step form the X to the XS Max but I just wanted the bigger screen otherwise I would've waited til next year.

Next thing I've noticed is what an absolute B****** it is to put screen protectors on, because you have no home button and no speaker to line up with! I ****** up the first one, will try another one later.
